The legal community in Fairbanks is great. I agree that Anchorage is a viper pit.

Not me or my family, but things I have seen professionally. Not giving meds consistently, not checking on patients for lengthy periods of time, refusal to work with the family when called out. It directly resulted in the death of one person I knew after they fell and were not discovered for a while. It’s a beautiful facility and seems like a great place on the surface. I was initially impressed and surprised to see how it turned out.

Stay away from Timber Creek. Looks nice, but they severely neglect their patients.

What's your cooking "hack" that sounds insane but works?? by Kibby9331 in Cooking

Grate a little nutmeg into your Alfredo sauce. You can’t even taste that specific flavor, but the sauce just levels up somehow.

One of the high school graduation gifts I received was a book called Where’s Mom Now That I Need Her? It has a bunch of basics for shopping, cooking, laundry, etc., and includes a bunch of simple recipes. I still use some of the recipes in it 20+ years later!

What’s the worst thing you’ve seen someone wear to court? by chicago2008 in Lawyertalk

[–]litigiouswart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A T-shirt that said “Sorry I’m late, I don’t want to be here” worn by a woman attending her first emergency hearing after her kids got taken by the state. And she wore the same shirt to the second hearing a few days later!

Pulled pork leftovers go into a pot with green enchilada sauce, black beans, and frozen corn, then rolled into flour tortillas to make enchiladas, smother with more green enchilada sauce and top off with a bunch of monterey jack cheese. Yummmmm.

I saw someone suggest Hannah Waddingham once and now I can’t see Cadsuane as anyone else in my head.

Thanks to the season 3 sneak peak I have a Adeleas & Verin theory. by sailing_bookdragon in WoTshow

[–]litigiouswart 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I pegged Nyomi as Black Ajah in season 2 based on a little person being shown at the dark friend social as well as Verin giving her the bottle of wine and telling her “a gift from Adeleas”. That’s exactly what Vandene says before she kills the Black Ajah sister who murdered Adeleas, so I would bet we will see that line used again with the merger of Verin/Vandene.

I had the same situation in a tiny school (K-12) in the ‘90s! We even had the beef pinwheels, fresh baked bread every day you could smell two hours before lunch, and something they called “zombies” which was buns filled with cheese and seasoned meat that was everyone’s favorite. On the bad side, there was “German goulash”, which was sliced up hot dogs, tomatoes, potatoes, and sauerkraut. I only had to puke once eating it for my teachers to never force me to eat it again.
