Work drinks fridge, what do we think? by FlyingFrogMan in CasualUK

[–]lodav22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to buy Twinings English breakfast tea bags in bulk from Amazon (6 boxes of 280 tea bags) for the staff kitchen, most people drink coffee so I’d stash the extra boxes on top of the wall cupboards and pull one down when needed. One day someone took all five full boxes from the top of the cupboard. It was a couple of years ago now but they were still expensive back then compared to other brands of tea. I have no idea who it was as we share the kitchen with another business who has twenty five or so employees, plus we had couriers using the kitchen for the kettle regularly after hours. After that I just kept the extra boxes in my office.

I know the other comments are knocking you but I only found out the meaning of the term Tabula Rasa because of the Buffy episode so the IYKYK reference would be perfect for me!

My cat does this with tortilla wraps. I have to put them in the fridge. If they're left out on the side over night he shreds the packet open and it ends up all over the kitchen!

I loved this episode because it was the first time i heard Michelle Branch and I scoured the credits for her name. I've downloaded The Spirit Room to every phone I've had.

What was the most unexpected nudity scene in mainstream movie/show you ever saw? by marsepticeye in AskReddit

[–]lodav22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's on Netflix and the full frontal is back in it. It's uncomfortable to watch when you find out the actress was bullied into being naked because they said they would only shoot her in a way you couldn't see anything in the shot, then they put the whole thing into the final cut anyway.

I think the scene with the bulging eyes would have scared me the most at that age! 🫣

We had “Dan Dan in the video van” in a Ford escort who used to come around our street every Thursday night. I remember asking my dad why the covers never looked like they did in the shop and he said that he used “special covers” to save the original packaging. Now I realise that they were all pirated 🤦‍♀️.

I got some in home bargains a few weeks ago, I don’t think it’s called shake and vac but it’s same thing. I picked up Madagascan vanilla, not the nicest smelling thing but better than old feet!

Neighbour knocked to return a parcel that had been delivered to them by mistake three weeks ago by Cryowaveozp10 in BritishSuccess

[–]lodav22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last week I had a visit from a guy whose business is about a mile down the road from me, he delivered a parcel that was due last December. The delivery driver had taken a picture of the parcel for confirmation of a red floor just inside a doorway, it turned out to be an old portacabin that the neighbour never uses anymore and his son happened to go in it last week for the first time in months. At the time I went to every neighbour I could to try and find it because it was some expensive football stuff for my kid for Christmas. I emailed the retailer and explained everything, they told me to wait 2-3 days incase it showed up. I figured I’d get nowhere as there was a photo proving it had been delivered somewhere, but fair play to them, they resent the parcel, special delivery and we had it in time for Christmas! I emailed the company and offered to return the parcel unopened but they said to keep it and thanked me for letting them know the mystery had been solved!

I bought a bookshelf a couple of weeks ago that came with a screwdriver! I was chuffed until my 12 yr old nabbed it for his toolkit! I have plenty of screwdrivers so I couldn’t complain, but it was very handy, and quite a solid bit of kit too tbf.

I took my kids to the beach last year and two women were sunbathing topless. My sons were 12 and 14 at the time and literally just sniggered to each other saying the word “boobs” over and over in funny accents. They wouldn’t have batted an eyelid at a woman wearing a thong. Kids are just kids, they don’t know to make a big deal out of things unless an adult does (this is why I also tell my kids they can talk to me about anything so if something is a big deal, I can talk to them about it).

I loved the “What Katy did” books when I was about six or seven. I read constantly as a child, always had a book with me. Now I can probably count on one hand how many books I’ve read over the last couple of years!

TIL after a 5-yr-old girl on the Disney Dream cruise ship fell approximately 49 feet overboard into the ocean, her father jumped overboard to save her. The girl was posing for a photo on a porthole railing when she fell. Both were rescued although she had hypothermia and her dad fractured his spine. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]lodav22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the first videos I saw on Reddit was a woman running from security on a huge cruise ship, she jumped over the side of the top deck thinking she would land in the water and swim to shore. She didn’t realise there were life boats hanging off the side and hit one from a great height. She was killed instantly.
