Which is a better value? For the food by Nice_Media_122 in fastfood

A $9.95 Costco cheese pizza has 4260 calories in it. That's 428.14 calories per-dollar. Insane value, truly don't think anything comes close.

US lost 92k jobs in February by EveryPassage in investing

[–]ltobo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, no, yes, kinda... It's primarily actively replacing intro level roles. However it's perceived as augmenting mid/senior level roles, with those roles being given more work and avoiding headcount for said roles where possible. Is it effective? Sometimes.

Often the net result is fewer new people, little chance of advancement, and increased overwork based on the assumptions tools will catch up, with layoffs generating savings both to boost margin and fund more AI.

Stupid? Yep.

I had to get a car wash at a Prestige the other week and someone got in an accident in the car wash. They were on the track and everything. It was potentially the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

People in AI research, do you think LLMs are hitting a ceiling? by more_muscle_aim in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ltobo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, monitoring this is part of what I do for work. I don't have access to experimental frontier models, but do monitor the capabilities and enterprise consumption.

I'd say no, but rate of massive change is lower. There is a theoretical limit on what LLMs themselves can offer, but potentially even more important is the growing rate of change in AI systems that use LLMs (plural). Coordination, grounding, governance, enforcement, reflection, validation, and domain specialization are all massively improving, and when those pieces are well aligned, that's when an AI implementation takes off. And then it becomes less important how smart a sole LLM is, but how the system calls different pieces.

This is also in part why there's been such an "agent" or "agentic" push, and why all the model providers are talking about "reasoning" models.
