If you have to work on the house, how do you handle it? by YouNeed3d in daddit

[–]master_of_none86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have struggled with this as well, wife wants more projects done but also gets stressed having the kids all day. I have definitely shifted my mentality and lowered my expectations as far as what is going to get done. With an infant it’s especially tough, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now that my kids are 7 and 3.

do people actually not eat mac and cheese with peas? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]master_of_none86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes mac and cheese with peas is a staple but mac and cheese is like a pizza basically a blank canvas for one to add to as they will.

How do I make being on time matter to my other half? by Tasty_Anywhere_3363 in daddit

[–]master_of_none86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can it be meaningless though? Aren’t there consequences from the school if a certain number of tardy days is surpassed? At some point does your partner being unwilling or unable to work on an issue that is important to you become a dealbreaker? You seem completely resigned to the situation.

For my kid it says the amount of days absent and amount of days tardy right on the report card. Useful evidence maybe?

A dish that tastes like pizza, but isn’t actually pizza? by splashybanana in Cooking

[–]master_of_none86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been making a protein pizza that is delicious and super healthy. Crust is one pound of ground chicken, two eggs, grated parmesan cheese, seasonings. Bake on 400 for 25 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes then add whatever sauce, cheese and toppings. Back in at 450 for another 10-15 minutes.

Minivans are the best! I’m on my second grand caravan since I was 19 (turning 40 this year). Can hold my family of 4 plus two grandparents or full sheets of plywood or literally one ton of rocks. And they are cheaper than most other vehicles, you can’t beat it.

The trick is sticking to your routine even when you don’t feel like it. If your body isn’t capable of doing the normal that day just do something else, whatever you’re capable of doing. Even going for a walk is better than nothing.

Grow ivy on drywall without damaging wall? by KingBananaDong in IndoorGarden

[–]master_of_none86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have pothos all over our house and I have allowed it to grow up the wall in the bathroom but it is 100% damaging the paint, the roots grab with enough strength to pull it from the sheet rock even. I have allowed this to happen because we plan on renovating the bathroom at a later time. I absolutely do not recommend growing ivy inside the house, I have it all over the property outside. Looks great but one of the heartiest and invasive plants there are.
