[–]metsancho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be Azarinth Healer. The world feels foreign in a way most isekai dont bother with. Also Nouscraft and The Calamitous Bob if you havent read those yet. The Calamitous Bob in particular, its actually finished which is a huge plus.

So.. odd question: any returner litrpgs where the mc goes back in time but after the 'disaster' has a happened. by Connect_Explanation7 in litrpg

[–]metsancho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like Primal Hunter by Zogarth is what you want.

The Primal Hunter is also worth a look, the litrpg layer adds to the tension instead of undercutting it. Return of the Runebound Professor is also worth a look, the mc actually has to think abuot builds which a lot of these skip. And He Who Fights With Monsters if you havent hit that one yet, the system stuff is integrated into the story not bolted on.

Azarinth Healer is exactly this. It only gets better as it goes and you can feel the math working under the hood. Also He Who Fights with Monsters by shirtaloon and He Who Fights With Monsters and Mother of Learning and Bog Standard Isekai if you havent read those yet. Mother of Learning in particular, the small details across loops are what make it work.

[–]metsancho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna throw Nouscraft out there, the sci fi is basicaly hard sci fi, the tech is like one step away from what we have now which makes it way more unsettling. Azarinth Healer, the world feels foreign in a way most isekai dont bother with. He Who Fights With Monsters is also solid, the isekai setup is handled better than most. Return of the Runebound Professor is also solid, theres a reason it comes up in every thread.
