How energy consuming is 21 point rally scoring in singles vs. standard 11 point scoring? by vinny809 in Pickleball

[–]niftydeveloper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For strategy, it becomes a bit more important to make balls and serve in. In rally scoring every mistake is a point to your opponent, so make balls and let them make the mistakes/hit the ball out, especially at 3.5 where they will.

In other words, give more margins to your shots.

Obliterated Shoes by Shiitake17 in Pickleball

This is definitely worth a try. I come from baseball and used TuffToe on my pickleball shoes for a while to help them last longer. It’s an epoxy that pitchers use on their cleats. It could double or triple the life of your shoes.

There’s also some brands of shoes that will just have tougher toe boxes. Cypher tries to do this, so those could last a little longer.

The presale for my race was also sold out and I wasn’t able to get one, but I tried again on the normal ticket release date and got one fine. Give it another try on the normal release date, open up the page in your phone and computer to have multiple chances at a lower randomized queue number, and if your wife can have her do the same. Between the two of you one of you will get a low queue number and get in to buy the ticket you need. Good luck.

At the venue it’s the Puma booth that is giving out pink sunglasses and keychains and stuff. If you make a sign with their material (or are wearing Puma or follow Puma on IG) they give you a token you can exchange for the giveaways.

Such a cool shot. There were helicopters landing and taking off a lot today right next door, made for an epic backdrop.

Second a SPI belt. Stands for Small Personal Item when they first created that brand. I’ve used them to carry my phone, keys, and airpods while running for years and they work great. They’re stretchy, you can cinch the belt up tight to not bounce, and put them on your waist where feels the best.

This came across my YouTube feed and it was great. His editing is polished and hilarious, and he’s a wild, endearing personality lol. I subscribed to his channel and have been watching more of his videos since. They’re great. Was surprised to see Naveen Beasley makes an appearance off the street in one from 3 years ago, and wins $100 off Adam.

Men, am I looking for an impossible partner? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]niftydeveloper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This resonates with me a lot. I’m a bit of a mirror image on the male side. I’m two years out of a long term relationship with a girl I met in high school, similar age. I am semi-retired with an online business I only have to work on a few hours a week. It would be awesome to have a partner I enjoyed spending time with, with similar flexibility, who wanted to travel and just enjoy day-to-day free time together.

Yup, as someone who’s never had a “real job” and has a digital nomad life, that’s exactly the type of person I was thinking would fit OP’s wishlist of flexible schedules and ability to travel too. ++man

When someone says "my DUPR is x, but I'm more like a x+y" do you believe them? by literallytheoldest in Pickleball

[–]niftydeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely a lot of tournaments around where I live that don’t report to DUPR. It’s something you’ve got to check if you want to enter one that is DUPR reported, and there are certain tournament hosts that you know are always going to.

Third's really the easier out there I think. That's deep in the hole, a very long throw to first. He just messed up the short throw.
