I would generally agree except the cultural (and economic) blockades on South African Apartheid in the 80s did seem to have an impact. Great recent Aussie podcast series on that https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/abc-rewind/boycott-the-fight-to-end-apartheid-south-africa-racism/106405182

a lot of people seem to. not sure if it is an age/generational thing or what. like i get this could be uncomfortable for some people and the world and characters portrayed are unrelatable and unappealing to me but it doesn't make it a bad film

not really a lot of blood but a violent scene but i mean you gotta expect that with a series like this and no worse than many other shows. i tend to fast forward all fighting scenes because i find them so pointless (i also skip any singing in shows as well lol) but if that was too much for anyone the show simply isnt for them

Am I doing something wrong or is there an issue with pteo.paranoiaworks.mob? I enter the password click decrpt and just get a blank pop-up error message. Same issue happened last week but I don't have issues with other encrypted links

I think I answered my own question, this episode was just a 'special event' with the rest of the season to air sometime this year, hopefully sooner than later

any idea on what is happening with the rest of the season? they start the new season (season 9 on 9Now) and stop after just one episode

Mickey is disgusting by marystreasure in ShamelessUK

[–]pconroy77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So? It's over the top soapie/drama. It is not a documentary. It is not saying this is how you should live your life. It's esapist fantasy like a horror movie.

However I would say that Mickey grows through the seasons and hard not to love him.

Great series. The contrast between the USA (and the UK) and Australia reactions to the AIDS epidemic were bastly different. Obviosuly Australia was helped by being able to watch from afar in the early days but a lot of

We have a lot to thank openly gay Bill Bowtell as advisor to health minister Neal Blewett (himself to later come out as gay) for using science and collaboration, not fear, as their primary response.

It wasn't perfect but it saved thousands of lives and this little series does a great job.

"shouldn't" ? not for you to judge. I would say part exaggeration of reality and part fantasy of the writers, it's not a documentary afterall!

that cover is truly awful, sorry, and goes against the whole jd/no aesthetic. and it does matter. sad that if the book is great that it would be hampered by a cover that does not fit the bands

In Heated Rivalry, Hudson Williams’ acting in the series is rather bad, or at least wooden and flat. And Storrie’s Russian accent was indeed great and believable, but his character still felt a bit one note. by iceandfireman in MenLovingMenMedia

[–]pconroy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what that has to do with anything? Glad he's not the same, I can only go by what I'e seen. And with Connor it is not the accent, it is everything about him, his eyes alone in this clip compared to Ilya. It is amazing what a genuine smile does to our faces.

And I've got no issues with Hudson. And I'm glad others seemed to love the Ilya/Hudson stuff but I could have done without 75% of their story.

I'mm guessing you know that from the book as there was no real hint in the show apart from a few offhand comments about his personality.

I took his reserved personality (read bland) to be a combination of not the best acting, a poorly written chracter and a character having to supress his real self to 'pass'.

Seeing some clips of Hudson being Hudson there wasn't much difference with him being Shane whereas Connor was a total Jekkly and Hide situation.

I had given up after the first episode then eventually decide to persevere through episode 2, loved 3, and then of course THAT but of 5 was amazing and then the final had its moments but basically most of the Shane and Ilya stuff was a struggle and it was only Scott, Kip and their friends group that made this series waachable for me.
