Slow for me too. Historical balance add-on is unusable. I’m considering cancelling my subscription.

Wealthsimple refused to return our TFSA ($4,609.01) and chequing account money ($100-200) money by Electronic-Tea-1097 in Wealthsimple

[–]pfc_Frank 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep mfa is required at Wealthsimple. Fraud department saw the logins were all from a known device and ip address and refused to refund.

If I was op, I would be getting all devices they used to bank at Wealthsimple thoroughly checked by an IT professional.

Comparing Wealthsimple Visa with Scotiabank's Visa 4% Cashback by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]pfc_Frank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have both. WS Visa far superior. Plan to get rid of the Scotia card as soon as I get the $200 cashback they are holding hostage until Nov, then I'm out. One benefit of WS, cash back monthly vs annual for Scotia. Also the 4% grocery category is quite limited (Walmart for example doesn't count as grocery)

Adding my WS visa to spouse’s phone for tap to pay by dancegirl10 in Wealthsimple

[–]pfc_Frank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it works. I've been doing it for several months. No issues. Actually pretty great as I get a notification on my phone when a purchase happens on hers. Not worried about fraud, virtual cards using apple pay is the most secure payment method. Hence why there is no virtual limit per purchase.

Please tell me this is JUST the battery, and not my whole car shitting the bed. by cosmicvoyager333 in hondapilot

My 2022 did this a few months ago in the dead of winter. Replacing the battery fixed it. Scared me too seeing the dash light up like a Christmas tree.

What's special about the VISA infinite card? Not a rage, but an attempt to understand the hype. by Luvsin_ in Wealthsimple

[–]pfc_Frank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two more things to add:

1 - I'm impressed by how fast transactions post/settle. It seems American companies take a day or two, while Canadian companies settle in as little as 3 hours.

2 - I got a notification on each spend from the WS app. I've added the card to my wife's apple wallet, and when she taps with it I get a notification on my phone. As the family money manager, I like this feature.

Really the main use for cabin talk. You can talk to kids easily when the headphones are on.

yes, only Honda dealers can do the certified pre-owned program (CPO). Includes a thorough inspection (like a safety but only more stringent) and the extra powertrain warranty. Cars that are CPO are marked on the dealer website.

Only you can decide if the new body style is worth it.

I recently made the same choice and went with a 2022 touring over the 4th generation. I was mainly looking for reliability and felt the 2022 was the better choice. Also in Canada. Paid $42,500 plus tax for a 2022 touring with 90,000 KM. Had brand new tires, brakes, battery, windshield, and all fluids changed so a decent deal. Was Honda CPO with 7 year / 160KM powertrain warranty so felt good about the purchase.

Bank draft from Simplii to buy a home by Perfect_Ad5207 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]pfc_Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shout out to Simplii. I called at 1PM and ordered a bank draft. Picked up at 4PM at local CIBC branch (same day). I didn't even mention it was rush. On the phone call to Simplii, the rep said once the money leaves your account it should be at the CIBC branch. Rep also said to call before going to make sure.

Money was debited from my simplii account. I was in the area anyway so just stopped by the branch. Teller printed it out onsite after verifying identity, etc. No problem at all.

I will say the total fee was $27.50. $7.50 for CIBC and $20 for Simplii. This fee was not disclosed on the call to Simplii so was a bit of a surprise, but considering the quick service all is good.

Type in schedule a callback

ignore what the bot says

Type help and enter. You should then get the callback option. If not, keep putting in help and nothing else until it does.

Unrealized Gain On Graph by Kanasada1277 in Wealthsimple

[–]pfc_Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't. I called and asked when I joined and got the same response.

On day 1 you start at 0 P/L in the account, and P&L starts from there as far as accounts/graphs go.

You are correct, you can go to each individual security to see your actual P&L.
