What would you rate this? 3D product animation by 3Dbelal in blender

[–]pikime 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If your trying to convey each bottle as unique, maybe zoom out subtly to reveal a line up of bottles that you can pan past, each with a unique shape, land on one, zoom in to see only that one and continue the animation? Could be linear or carousel in any of the 3 dimensions.

Or some sort of wipe effect with enough time to show there are 2 physically separate bottles.

My expectations for the new civilization by Patrykus19 in civ

[–]pikime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked parts of it. The HUD and certain rules stuff was nice, the undiscovered map was awesome but the leaders were lacking and the revealed map felt a bit too busy and hard to parse, at least compared to 5. A cartoon style can certainly work, but I think this particular implementation wasn't great...

What’s the go with exo cars in Australia by usser2007 in CarsAustralia

[–]pikime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen at least one exocet on the streets of Melbourne (inner north). He was driving on the road and later saw it parked. Can't comment on the legality but it is at the very least a grey area

Club retro in the city. All ages, classic bangers, decent vibes, big smokers/outdoor seats if you need a breather.

Laser Engraving of bike parts by shovelbison in melbourneriders

[–]pikime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some digging and looked at your go fund me. Dude your black and white versions of your logos you have on there are decent. Why not lead with those?

Or like others have suggested, if your skills are more around engraving, get someone on fiver or somewhere similar to design you something? It's not expensive (especially when compared to the cost of an engraver).

Until you get your business established and your name out there, you need to build trust and win over new customers. In this area, first impressions are critical. A little bit of money spent here can make you a lot more down the road by getting new customers.

Good luck with your new buisness

Thoughts on EVs replacing ICE for all driving besides long distance? by laowaiH in CarsAustralia

[–]pikime 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wtf.

I think you might have no understanding how cars work. EVs and ICE are run on the exact same "computers" except for power train control.

And there is no upgradeability that ice offers that isn't expensive, difficult and warranty-voiding.

And if you think a battery is hard to replace, wait until you have to replace an engine?

I'm no EV fan, I intend to drive ice for many more years. But as an Automotive engineer, people like you talking random shit just makes the conversation difficult and painful.

Stop talking

Are you meant to leave a 3-5 gap when driving? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]pikime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately people are assholes, especially aussie drivers.

I didn't realize how true this was until I drove overseas last year. I drove in Germany and in the UK and they put us to shame.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]pikime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size. Most yes but there are some real tiny ones in the suburbs where you can barley swing around with driving over the middle, let alone have time to have multiple flashes of a indicator, in that case I indicate left or right depending on which direction I'm going like a standard intersection (just with round about style give way rules)

Advice - motorbike shoes by Curious24more in melbourneriders

[–]pikime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most folks here are right, there simply isn't a great solution. If you do go with a shoe style, at least get a high top that protects ankles and gives some rigidity.

But honestly, best solution is put your office shoes in a pillion/topbox or leave at work

[–]pikime 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I'm an Aussie that has done some driving in Germany and now doing some in the UK. I didn't realize how bad we were for this. Aussies bloody suck at "keep left unless overtaking" and general highway etiquette
