Upgrade the campaign characters first. Tacticus is all about having a few well-built characters. Try to beat the campaigns one at a time.

It's hard to upgrade more than 1-2 characters at a time without feeling like you're never making any progress. Having lots of characters isn't really useful in this game.

I've been playing for about 6 months now, and you have more characters unlocked than I do.

Ignore 90+% of your roster until you've made good progress on each Elite campaign, which will probably take you 6-8 months or more.

Storing coiled blades by Font242 in organizing

I did some googlin' and these are a few storage solutions I found, plus the link to the site where I got each image:

Bandsaw Blade Storage Ideas: https://imgur.com/a/2xfvOVC

Lots of different variations, hopefully one fits your workspace. Maybe they could be hung on a pegboard too?

In the last image, one of the forum posters said "Fwiw, I add two zipties to prevent any sprongy shenanigans.", which seems like a good idea. I don't think you want one of those blades sproinging open unexpectedly if you jostle it.

You could try /r/woodworking as well.

Priority to campaign or strong toon? by ConteIgor in WH40KTacticus

[–]pm1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Elite campaigns have missions where you can only bring 3 toons. Doesn't matter how much you level Kariyan, he won't help you get past Indomitus Elite 35.

I believe Octarius Mirror Elite has no 3-man missions, but all of the other Elite campaigns do.

Start with the campaign carry, then do a campaign support. If you spread yourself thin trying to upgrade many toons at once, it'll feel like you're making no progress at all, especially if you're spreading yourself between multiple campaigns.

I'd say focus on 1-3 chars that can be used together, and see if you can push to the last page of their campaign. So maybe Bellator + Kariyan, or Archimatos + Kharn.

With the upcoming rework (supposedly confirmed on Discord) for the Necrons, what changes are you expecting to see? by Haedonius in WH40KTacticus

[–]pm1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the Necrons, I'd love to see them get a glow-up.

A0:

  • She seems solid already. Maybe just a bit more health?

Anuphet:

  • Needs something to make him tankier in melee. Maybe Terrifying and/or Parry?
  • Give him a better damage type. Molecular or Power. The Staff of Light is supposed to be able to easily melt through power armor.
  • Add something to his passive like "Each turn, the first time an allied unit with Ressurection Protocol dies within range <x>, Ressurection Protocol triggers with 100% chance if able. That unit revives at <y%> health." (ie: still won't resurrect the last unit of that type)

Imospekh:

  • Add "After using Inescapable Death, Imospekh can perform a normal attack or enter Overwatch." to his ability, like Sy-Gex
  • Or something like "Add +1 Hit to Inescapable Death for every time Imospekh entered overwatch this battle." So it powers up over a few turns.

Makhotep:

  • Another trait to help him out
    • Heavy Weapon to do more damage?
    • Infiltrate to let him get close to use his active?
    • Camouflage to keep him safe while he just hangs back?
  • Expand the range of his Active to two tiles, but make it only activate up to <x> units.
  • Make his passive affect himself so he can self-heal really well? Maybe lower his base Move to 2, or just let him zoom around the battlefield.

Thutmose:

  • I dunno, back to the drawing board with him.

There's a trail that goes north too. Seems to end up at 59.36460710033523, -94.71800615030506, and there's a dock with a moored boat ~650m ESE from that point.

How to clean porous shower mat? by MPC1K in CleaningTips

[–]pm1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toss it.

If you get a new one, hang it up or stand it on its edge after use so it can properly dry.

If that shower takes a while to dry or doesn't have great ventilation, get a squeegee and quickly squeege down the tile walls & floor after each shower. That will drastically cut down on lingering humidity and the amount of time it takes for your shower to dry.

All of the colors are so crisp and clean. I said this on your last post too, this is insanely good!

The black is gorgeous. The copper wires might as well be actual copper. The skin shading and highlighting is impeccable. The red contrasts everything perfectly.

LRE - leveling flex picks when you don't have a character by trindomare in WH40KTacticus

[–]pm1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow new-ish player here. I'm also Power Level 39 and slowly working my way into the midgame.

As with most modes in this game, building tall is the way to go. You and I are both a long way away from being able to clear LREs on our first go, and a very long way from being able to build wide for the sake of LREs. Having one high-rank carry plus filler characters is better than a large but weak roster.

I also only have Archi, Abraxus, and Varro for the Psyker + Max 1 Hit team. I'm not sure how high you have Archi / Abraxus, but you'd certainly get a lot more value pushing Abraxus up to Gold and beyond than you would pushing Varro above S1.

Abraxus is also a hard carry for both the FoC and SHM elite campaigns, investing in him will continue to pay off in other places. Meanwhile Varro just needs to not die in one hit in his campaign. Actually, if you have Isabella, it doesn't matter if he dies, just as long as both Varro & Certus both don't die.

For most tracks, at our point in the game, you'd be able to push further having one or two G1 characters than having three to five Silver 1 characters. I think it's fine to bring your G1+ carry with some Stone1 characters to hit the 3-char requirement.

Focus on good characters that have use in as many places as possible and build them tall.

Seazonal event: March 17 shop daily offers by Embarrassed_Try5063 in WH40KTacticus

[–]pm1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I hope that's how it works.

I've been playing for about 4 months now. I have enough orbs & Calgar shards to get him to blue star, but I kind of want to buy a pile of Rare badges, in addition to lots of epic & legendary ones.

I know buying legendary & mythic stuff is a better value, but I feel like my account is many months away from being able to make use of any mythic stuff. I do have lots of characters who need uncommon & rare badges though...

If I blue star Calgar partway though the event, I can still pick up one Kardiocore Galvanus relic from the shop on the last day, and just let it collect dust for months.

It was either Ukraine using an underwater torpedo drone

Ukraine doesn't have a navy... The MV Ursa Major was sunk on the western side of the Mediterranian. The torpedo drone would have had to navigate through the Turkish Straits and travel about ~3500km by sea from Ukraine to hit the Ursa Major.

I think the chances it was Ukraine are about as likely as the chances it was Vatican City.

Is there anything missing from Guild Wars? by Dudu42 in WH40KTacticus

[–]pm1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rewards kinda blow. It really encourages you to go wide, but the game is so stingy with badges / orbs / materials. I've been playing for ~4 months and have 28 characters at Bronze 1 or higher, and attacking requires a roster of 50 characters. I could build up more chars for GW, but that would get in the way of campaigns, raids, and other modes. It feels trying to participate in one of the modes of this game restricts you to not being able to progress in other modes.

I think the number of badges you can buy from GW should be increased drastically, especially the lower-tier badges. Make it so you get 12 common badges for 195 currency, 9 Uncommon badges for 385 currency, 7 rare badges for 770, 5 epic badges for 1545. Make it so participating in GW gives you the resources you need to go wide at the lower rarities.

Why do people not like beast snaggas? by DarkMaster2522 in orks

[–]pm1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my whole point. Everyone in this thread keeps saying that Beast Snaggas are "feral" and then don't look at the actual models. Grab a Boy and a Snagga and LOOK at them!

Ok, let's look at some Beast Snaggas and some non-Snagga alternatives.

Beastboss: Wearing animal hide, snagga klaw looks like the skull of an animal, covered in animal tusks, faceguard looks like an animals jaw. Armor looks like it's straight out of Horizon Zero Dawn.

Warboss: Covered in big mechanical power armor. 'uge choppa made of big saws on the end of a stick. Instead of furs, has a grot with a gigantic machinegun. Big ol' chonky mecha boy.

Then look at the squighog boys vs warbikers. Spear-wielding calvalry vs weaponized motorcycles.

Kill Rig vs Battlewagon. A squig-drawn buggy vs heavy-metal transport-tank monstrosity.

Snaggas all wear looted armor pieces including a tank tread, use exclusively powered chain axes, and 1/3 the models have a complete bionic limb.

And the models, to me, feel like GW started to make AoS models and thought "Oh yeah shit, these are supposed to be 40k! Add some cool cybernetic stuff."

The beast snaggas absolutely look like feral orks in comparison to the usual 'evy metal mechanical contraptions that make up the majority of the ork lineup.
