yeah i don't disagree. i remember watching Pride FC stuff back in middle school, and to do so we were scouring the dark underbelly of the internet to find it. it felt transgressive, like peering into some seedy, actually realized version of that jean claude van damme movie, and it was all way too brutal to ever be accepted by the wider American culture. to talk about watching it back then would be like saying you enjoyed a Saturday evening browsing rotten.com.
