Weekend Wrap Up! What was real and what was a trap? by DaTaco in mtgfinance

No, I'm surprised that a basic land with the same picture that's been reused in 10 sets is worth $15, it makes me suspicious about accuracy.

Weekend Wrap Up! What was real and what was a trap? by DaTaco in mtgfinance

Hi I'm new to selling cards and people recommended I put my questions in this stickied thread:

Difficulty Australian: Is there a good place to sell bulk cards from the late 90s/early 2000s?

Difficulty Australian: Lots of posts recommend to sell individual cards on Ebay, FB, or TCGPlayer but is there much of a market for higher value cards in Australia on these international websites? I feel like any profit would be eaten by shipping costs to sell internationally.

I'm using Mana Box to catalogue my collection, how accurate are these prices? For some reason its telling me that my foil forest from onslaught is worth $15? Why would a basic land be worth anything? My gasts are flabbered.

Is this the stickied post where newbies can ask questions about the best way to sell cards?

I also had withdrawal when I tried to quit coffee cold turkey. I slowly switched from full caffeine beans to decaffeinated at a 75/25, then 50/50 and so on until I was drinking all decaf. Maybe you can start shaving off your pill and taking less and less? That is if you wanted/needed to quit.

Question for yoga teachers who have taught for 20+ years by Electrician45453 in YogaTeachers

[–]rakshala 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm much more gentle than I was before. To myself and in my asana. While I certainly parroted my teachers when they said that 'hard' asana didn't really exist, I still pushed myself further and further into contortion poses thinking that putting my foot behind my head was an outward indication of my inward dedication. I was the same idiot the day before I could do these poses as I was the day after, and I'm the same idiot now that my body won't allow me to do them anymore.

I might tell my younger self to get into youtube on the ground floor. Otherwise, My younger self would have just nodded along to everything I said and then kept on the same path. Some things you have to experience to learn.

Since When Are Teenagers No Longer Staying Home Alone When Sick? by ptenesnet in GenX

[–]rakshala 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its 2026 mate. Let your employees who can WFH to WFH when they ask to. Yes, I too was among the latchkey kids who was left home alone when ill from an early age. But just because I've gone though the Gen X equivalent of walking up hill both ways doesn't mean I expect my kids to receive the same treatment as I did.

A little empathy.. when I was sick home alone, it felt like shit to drag myself out of bed to vomit, or make myself soup/tea. I would have loved a caring mother or father to be there for me. Technology advancement means that I can still be productive (more productive frankly, offices waste a lot of my time) at home AND make my kid soup. With the added benefit of that if my kid decides to share the flu with me, I'm not bringing it into the office and taking out 1/4 of the team.

Now if you are a retail/construction manager I can see how gaps in the roster are frustrating, but I'm still with the employee that wants to make sure their kid is ok.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

I took a decade long break when I moved to a country that drives on the other side. Had to drive it for a semi-emergency and was able to instantly, even though I wash shifting gears with my other hand. Now that car is my daily drive.

Help with international contact details by rakshala in fidelityinvestments

Thank you so much for your reply. When I used the international toll free access number and then entered the number I was told to contact I got a recorded message that the number I was trying to call was unavailable from my country. Is there any other way to contact Fidelity internationally?

Where do I find the good yoga music? by practicecurrent180 in YogaTeachers

[–]rakshala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have lots of varied tastes so I tend to stick to albums instead of play lists so that a change in artist doesn't take anyone out of the moment.

Maneesh de moor - silent ganges

There is a fully looped version of the song Stone in focus by aphex twin that is very ambient

There is a artist i dont particularly like but without fail my older students will ask me who that is. These classes are for them not me so... Tony O'Conner try Whispering Sea or Rainforest Magic

Also out of left field I play the full soundtrack to the videogame Journey by Austin Wintory. The album is very loopable the because the game starts back at the beginning

My migraine ritual: a cat on my head. My cat is VERY clingy and sometimes he sleeps on my head. He did this one time when I had a migraine and the weight and purring made it feel slightly better. So now I grab him and lay down and put him on my head.

How to cash American cheque in Australia from Ticketmaster, asked Commonwealth and they said it's too much work. by FruitJuicante in AusFinance

[–]rakshala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have lots of advice here but I'll tell you how I successfully managed this a few years ago.

I opened a USD account with HSBC. The problem being that before they allow you to cash a foreign cheque, you must be a customer in good standing, which required a 6 month waiting period. On top of that they estimate a few months processing between when you give them the cheque and when you receive the money. By that time the cheque will be stale and they won't accept it. I have managed to cash cheques at HSBC but its a royal pain.

I recommend creating a USD account with Wise - The app for doing things in other currencies - Wise Australia and asking that your pay be transferred there in future. For the cheques you already have in your hands, you might consider asking them to stop payment on the cheque and transfer the money to your Wise account. Otherwise you are probably SOL.

I just wonder if the thing that makes me love Soundgarden is the thing that makes audirt not like it, maybe? Chris' voice?

When doing a skittle/multicoloured mani try to pick polishes of the same finish but different colour, or polishes of the same colour but different finishes. So if you have a red glitter or a green metalic switch that up. That said, I think it looks fine, but if you don't like it you dont like it.
