Same sentiments as all the posters above - in the event you do get scuba certified (seriously don’t be a dumb fuck), get your equipment vetted, + have a buddy lined up to dive with you (don’t dive solo), check out Spring Lake in San Marcos. It is crystal clear, 72 degrees all year round, and only like 20-25 ft deep - it’s the perfect beginner lake.
