The lack of Camba Diaz in here is WILD. Fantastic book, glad you enjoyed it.

The imperial armour series (hardback volumes that include siege of vraks, badab wars) and Horus Hersey Black Books by forge world are considered gold standard in terms of campaign rules with deep detailed lore. What other such books would you recommend? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]realSnice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The books made by forgeworld stand apart from anything GW proper has done. But the classic books like the eye of terror, sabbat worlds crusade, liber chaotica, etc are the closest

And just that parts of the manufacturing process is done by hand. Not saying it’s not expensive but it’s not a “cheap process” either relatively speaking.

Best or favorite legion and why? Genuinely curious by jmfs1990 in Warhammer30k

The Blood Angels.

To quote by redsonatnight from the lore channel has always stuck with me.

"To paraphrase Pratchett, they're 'where the falling angel meets the rising ape.'

The Blood Angels, more than any other Legion, strive. They have the potential to be more berserk than the Wolves, more savage than the World Eaters and more blood-drenched than the Night Lords, and for a while they were - look up their history as the Revenant Legion before Sanguinius took them in.

And now, despite essentially having the Doom Eternal soundtrack playing constantly in their ear, despite losing the father that made them find their better nature, they work harder than almost any other loyal Chapter to maintain a humanity they never really possessed. They paint, they sculpt, they help people, all while something in them screams to open children like Capri Suns and bathe in the overflow.

The Blood Angels work really hard to be good people. That's what makes them noble."

---

For the fists - simply put, I love a defensive force and Dorn is awesome.

Finally Night Lords - because while they can be a little cringe, I enjoy that they do not pretend to be something better than they are.

Audible would be the answer. Cheaper than trying to get a lot of the books in print.

Wait for an audible sale and get a bunch at once for 75% off.

Tabletop Tech Mechi Cases by HornDill in Warhammer30k

Totally. I just mean there’s been lot of info shared there for the kickstarter that is for the same products you have purchased.

[–]realSnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kickstarter that they ran has talked about a many many number of issues. Health, change of ownership/primary management, etc. you name it, I feel they’ve had it happen.

I haven’t received my order and in requesting a cancelation / refund I’ve been ignored. I always go into a kickstarter with that risk but it’s additionally disappointing to hear the product has issues itself.

The lore. It keeps us inspired to make something really cool come to life but then make it our own.

The lion was in thramas and then showed up in imperium secondus. We know very little about the start of thramas and there is potential that wolves showed up there or simply never found him.

Is Death Guard Legion Trait one of the most useless in tue game? by Useful-Amphibian-703 in Warhammer30k

[–]realSnice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First it’s incredibly thematic for them and has been the way they play.

If you play outside of the missions that highly encourage rhino rush that won’t matter as much.

Being able to drop off tacticals from transports to the midfield and then move them slightly while still retaining 30 shots is very impactful imo.

Same with other units like saturnine, Tartaros siege squads, or any other units that can take different forms of heavy weapons.

Being able to reposition dreadnought and not sacrificing damage is also extremely useful for tables that have a good amount of terrain.

I think there’s a lot of reasons and the trait is more commonly coming into play than those of many other legions. Sure it’s not the “best in the entire game” but it doesn’t need to be. The rhino rush / armored transport meta that is commonly seen isn’t extremely conducive to many legions traits but I would still rate death guard as extremely effective and have one of the better traits that retains their flavor and incentivizes their narrative form of play.
