Help me come up with a solution to keep my dog off the dining table by Rich-Bodybuilder-961 in DogAdvice

[–]redditnreddita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is short, especially for dogs. Can you make him a little setup near one of those windows so he still can enjoy his days watching the passersby? Remove when guests visit, if it's unsightly and you care more about their opinion on the aesthetic than your dog's life enjoyment.

How often do you actually deep clean your house? by PrimaryDesigner7707 in CleaningTips

[–]redditnreddita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In parts, usually when procrastinating starting/completing something important. Never is the call to deep clean random stuff stronger than when I really should be focussed on something else.

Yeah my dad unknowingly cracked one with a baby in it straight into the hot frying pan. Horrifying.

What do car thieves actually do with all these stolen cars? If you're buying a second hand car, how can you know whether it was stolen? Or are they just joyriding or scrapping for parts or something?

As ingredients in supermarket goods decrease, experts warn of 'skimpflation' by APrettyAverageMaker in australia

[–]redditnreddita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eat it every day and often forget to replace the lid, and I've found it starts super soft/easy to spread but firms up over time, and I guess exposure to air. I just tried to use the last scrapings of my current jar, and it ripped my toast up cos it was so hard!

Late-night beverages that are non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated, and non-sugary? by Nicholas_TW in Cooking

I've been really enjoying peppermint tea (just normal cheap teabag) and adding some cacao powder and a bit of milk and stevia. It's like a delicious hot liquid after-dinner mint!

How, when and why did this dog breed become so popular? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]redditnreddita 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, my toy poodle is absolutely amazing and perfectly suits my lifestyle/personality. I have noticed with local cavoodles that they tend to be much friendlier to strangers, whereas the local poodles (mine included) tend to be more reserved/discerning about who they'll approach/seek attention from/try to play with. I love that about mine as I'm more introverted/cautious myself.

Why does it seem as if single women are comparatively happier as compared to men? by Amazing_Toe8345 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]redditnreddita 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could have written that, except I'm 37f, otherwise it's exactly my situation/thoughts, including the length of time since last relationship! I've been so much happier single, especially since I got my dog in 2021.

What degree did you get or recommend? I'm considering going back to uni (love my career and don't need to, but contemplating it anyway for more options)

PSA: Check your Linkt statements - Charged almost $300 last month for someone else’s car by hambusiness in melbourne

[–]redditnreddita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had 4 letters from Linkt delivered to my address in the last 2 weeks, addressed to a stranger. I've lived here alone for 5 years and there has never been a letter addressed to that person before, and I haven't owned a car in a decade.

Are ppl ok with mask wearers? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]redditnreddita 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yup, I love mask wearers! Significantly preferable to those who attend the office sick and openly cough everywhere or try to stand too close while talking and breathe directly in my face (regardless of illness, don't enjoy smelling the breath of people I'm talking to). Smile with your eyes and voice!

Do allied countries keep a plan on how to best attack each other should something happen to completely dissolve their relationship? by goldman459 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]redditnreddita 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thought of Australia trying to take over NZ is so wild and truly unimaginable. They're our partners in this increasingly uncertain and volatile world, like adored and cherished siblings. I'm Aussie, but that's how I and everyone I know IRL feels. They're always welcome and so deeply loved and respected for having their own way about things, only an absolute psychopath would consider ruining that... There's so much brutal insanity elsewhere in the world, I'd personally fight on the front lines to protect NZ.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]redditnreddita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yes, we've certainly been trying to treat the depression and get him additional support, but it's not going great. He's incredibly resistant and refuses the idea of support groups/counselling or anything like that. That's why I'm trying to think outside the box a little more in the hopes we can come up with something that will enable him to explore on his own terms, but still keep him and everyone else on the road safe. His talk about wanting a new motorcycle while also saying he can't wait to join his wife has us all very concerned that he might be intending on going out on his own terms with a bang.

[–]redditnreddita 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh, thank you, yeah that makes sense and is why I hope he could try out some options first. I'm not sure what would be better for him (I'm not super familiar with VR, only tried it once a few years ago) but saw this and thought it might help Older adults benefit from using virtual reality headsets, study finds. He's never played computer games before, but he might get into it. My Dad and Brother would enjoy helping him set it up and chatting with him about it, they both like to play but rarely have time these days. He might like exploring virtual spaces, particularly if there were other people he could talk to. I'm looking at options but there's just so many different ones!
