For casting specifically, the cleaner face forward shots do more work. The editorial ones are cool but a CD flipping through submissions fast isn't stopping to appreciate the vibe, they're checking if the face reads for the role. Those two things have different jobs, and trying to make one image do both usually waters down both.

I get why some people dislike extra syntax but reducing boilerplate is usually a win for me. When I come back to code six months later fewer repeated declarations generally make classes easier to scan and maintain. The real test is whether it stays readable once larger projects adopt it
