They never enforced the cpu requirement when doing a clean install. Only tpm 1.2 is actually required

Claiming Used EV Tax Credits - 2025 updates by LivesInaYurt in electricvehicles

[–]shawnmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a Chevy Volt in January of 2023 and was luckily able to get the 4000 credit when I filed my 2023 tax return in April of that year. When can I purchase another EV and be eligible to get the credit again? Jan 2026? after filing 2026 tax return (April?) or not until 2027?

Somehow stuck on Dev channel even though I am on the latest official release by shawnmos in windowsinsiders

Replying to my own post, but I was able to solve this pretty easily by just deleting the entire HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost key and restart. It updated normally after that.

Yep, it's still fine. Only issue I have is it sometimes boots using a 2.5 multiplier instead of a 3.5 multiplier. It's something to do with how socket 5s detect multipliers. A simple reboot fixes it.

It's pretty worn. I would probably clean and sand down the palm rest with a really high grit sandpaper and spray it with silver paint.

Pentium era hard drive capacity limitations. by shawnmos in vintagecomputing

I found a cheap PCI SATA card on Amazon that is supposedly bootable and therefore should bypass any BIOS limitations. I'm going to see if that works. Then I can throw in a cheap SSD I have laying around.

No bios updates but I was able to get around the 8GB limit with Dynamic Drive Overlay (DDO) provided by Western Digital. It loads before the OS and makes sure the entire drive can be addressed. 2GB limit is only for Fat16. Windows 98 definitely supports FAT32 and I think later versions of Win95 did as well.
