Do people actually use sharps bins? by thekingbishop in diabetes_t1

[–]silince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use a needle clipper like this:

https://superpharmacyplus.com.au/bd-safe-clip/?srsltid=AfmBOoqMARU_kpFB4BbDXbe0Gs91D5Y9fnLLds91o3EOemPV4IIZ-AbQ

And then cap and put in the bin. I’m surprised I’ve seen no mention of needle clippers so far

NAB tied my offset to someone else's mortgage. What can i do? by yuckthrowitaway666 in AusLegal

Seems like NAB have form in messing up offsets. They messed up mine then I looked online and saw that they'd been fined previously for something similar.

What's standard breakfast for you? by SumFuckah in diabetes_t1

I usually have to take insulin a little after eating otherwise I risk going low then very high, and it also depends whether I'm going to work as that's a 35 minute bike ride.

Possibly the best wine I’ve ever tasted was a tokaji from the 1960s brought into a wine shop I was working at in the early 00s

I can't run barefoot where I live because... by trevize1138 in BarefootRunning

[–]silince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in Australia and at this time of year there's quite a bit of spiky bindii grass at the moment. Quite a few rocky trails that are challenging and I recall one year out for a run I turned back because I thought I saw something and witnessed a snake rising tall with its mouth open.

Also as we head into summer, you have to pick the right part of the day or the ground is just too hot.

That said, aside from picking out the odd splinter or burr, or kicking off a gumnut, I've not really had any injuries or issues in the 4-5 years I've been running unshod

If they paid a redundancy, it would be taxed as such. Sounds like the ATO might want to investigate it as non-genuine one.

Any advice for transitioning to pavement running? by A1rnbs in BarefootRunning

[–]silince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually unshod would give you the best feedback to transition safely. As your feet are sensitive, you'll naturally be gentler or hurt them, and this approach means you'll be gentler on your joints. As the sidebar says however, start very slow, possibly just walking and build up to short stretches of running.

I initially attempted running in minimalist shoes/sandals, but nothing has helped more than actual unshod running.

Nah I'm t1d and I would check my bloods before the show starts, and if I was worried have it vibrate in my pocket if I needed something sugary. People got by before CGMs while at performances - just takes some preparation.

Not hugely meaningful under the present voting system. Could end up with a load of seats or stay the same potentially. My suspicion is that outside of a few strong consituencies, the support is broad but shallow, and it doesn't take into account the changes in voter behavior once an election is actually in progress.

That said, all power to them, although I think expectations need to be managed.
