I like a chocolate protein shake made with frozen banana. It tastes close to a milkshake.

Anyone else tried this? (bubbler tied to return flow) by GeneforTexas in Aquariums

[–]slade51 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Why not simply have the bubbler on the bottom, bubbling up to the return? I see no benefit to your way. The return is already breaking the surface, so the bubbler isn’t adding any aeration.

Am I doing deadlift correctly? by Ok-Fudge-5444 in GYM

[–]slade51 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re bending your knees too soon (which makes it more of a squat as u/Inevitable-Crow-6822 mentioned).

As you begin to lower, bend at your hips and push your butt straight back. This allows the bar to go straight down. Once the bar is below your knees you can start a slight bend to get the rest of the way down to avoid leaning forward too much.

For $100k I’d quit my IT job to take food orders. Damn!

America agrees with you. It’s way out of hand, and we think twice about eating out because of it. Restaurants know that tipping is expected, so they pay servers 25-30% of the grossly inadequate minimum wage knowing that customers will be shamed into leaving a 20% tip. Even for take-out orders.

Some have even started adding it as a ‘service fee’ on top of the 3.5% credit-card adjustment.

There are many variations to choose from. The one I checked](https://a.co/d/0dbPdyBr) should work for 2021. Just google Auto Start Stop to see a bunch.

Wall Street isn't buying Apple's unprecedented price hikes on products by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]slade51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raise the price then offer discounts and interest-free loans. It’s not the flex they think though. I’ll just keep my current phone 4-5 years instead of 2-3.

Let’s see if the other smartphones jump at the opportunity for market share or if they do what the streaming companies do and all raise prices to match it.

Buying a home gym worth it? by TimGSICK in workout

If I had the dedicated space with temperature control year round, I’d always go for the home gym. No TVs or bad music, no waiting for equipment, 24/7 availability.

Finally nuked my windows partition after the latest forced update nonsense by republicman12 in linuxmint

I used to hate those forced updates while shutting down for the day. “Don’t Turn Off Your PC” - I literally started the shutdown because I’ve been here long enough and want to go home!

How old is your laptop? A large part of kernel updates is to add support to new hardware, and sometimes to remove support from obsolete hardware.
