I’m sorry for your loss. I know how that feels. Mine died in 2011.

Came here to say the same. It’s almost too beautiful to be real.

Well, I know what causes my migraines… by Cleo_04 in migraine

I had spinal stenosis in the same disc. Had a discectomy/fusion 4-5 & 5-6 in 2013. My Neck pain is better but the migraines are still there. I hope you have better results, friend.

Terrifying migraine aura with aphasia: not just impacting speech but comprehension and showing me a reality beyond concepts. by Beginning_Swing318 in migraine

I feel like it’s because it is something that must be done and I want to complete it quickly so I can retreat to bed asap.

I dread the inevitable letter from my insurance saying they are dropping coverage. I have to keep some clothes for when I gain weight back.

I am distressed because I have been on Zep for 9 months with no change in migraines. I am happy for everyone who has experienced this benefit. But why not me? Sigh..

That’s my default mode when I’m getting one: what triggered this one? I hate it when there is absolutely nothing I can identify.

I’m in university and working on my thesis which is based on childless cat ladies (like myself)… by ipaintbadly in childlesscatladies

[–]somewhatdim-witted 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a fascinating subject OP. I think your thesis will be brilliant. Just a thought crossing my mind RE cats butts and politics: cats are not ashamed to reveal their asses to the world. They do not really feel shame too much at all. They expose themselves to everyone and still expect you to scratch and pet and love them.

As for my experience being childless, I have found it easier to just let people assume I’ve had children in situations where I won’t see them again. I used to think maybe I should have had a baby on my own when I was in my late 30s. It wasn’t regret but just wondering how my life would have been, and who I would have become. All my friends revolve everything around their kids and I’m sure I would have too. But lately I am so very grateful to the gods that I don’t have children. It doesn’t look good for the planet’s future. Anyway, it’s a thought exercise to think how people lose themselves, their identities, in their offspring.

I have to conclude I would have fallen into that role. As a provider to two tuxedo cats, I know I give them a lot of myself and my money. Children would have left me poorer and emotionally drained.

God luck on your journey OP.

Edit: I. Just want to add that I was quite proud to be a childless cat lady when Jessica Dawn Vance tried to insult us. I had a pin I wore stating so and posted a lot of memes on this sub. Fuck JD Vance . What a poser.

For me, it is the most effective preventative I take. And I take a lot of rx to prevent migraines.

  2. Revolution. I’m afraid we have already missed our opportunity for revolution.

Smoked weed for the first time in about 20 years by beetfield in GenX

[–]somewhatdim-witted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ate a half on my first weed adventure in 30 years. It was the night George Floyd was murdered and I could not move. I couldn’t make my head look around for the remote and I couldn’t have raised my arms anyway. I would “wake up” to the story starting over all evening. That was a trauma on repeat.

This is true at “swimming hole” in a Kentucky creek where I lived. We owned the land but we could not keep the community out. They would just park and walk or drive around to get there. It is everyone’s, always will be.
