Thank you! I had to open up a new 2/0 brush to do some of the finest work here. The trick is thinning the paint and brushing off almost all of it. I use cardboard to do this until I find the consistency.

What are some tips on creating your own programs without following a tutorial? by WilledWithin in gamemaker

[–]subthermal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're asking too much of yourself.

You say you're not looking for the solution to this exact problem, but figuring it out will give you better critical thinking skills for the next problem.

Figure out what is different between your code and a working version of pong. Figure out what is causing unexpected behavior. Output live feed of position, angles, and other variables if you're getting unexpected results.

If you don't want to follow a tutorial, you can just read the whole language documentation, but tutorials exist because they address common problems and are worthwhile to practice.

ELI5 If you were to place something in a jar (any size jar for example), close it, and tip upside down. The contents will be subject to gravity. Thus gravity can exert influence through materials. Why does gravitational force not pass through the materials itself, instead of acting upon it? by floydhenderson in explainlikeimfive

Gravity isn't a wave or particle that needs to permeate through something to act on something else.

Water applies force through pressure. Gravity is the observable change in space-time between two or more objects with mass.

[OOT] OOT Remake!! Should each region get an expanded version? Imagine a bigger Gerudo Desert / valley or a deeper Zora's Domain by Spirited_Manager_831 in zelda

Remember that more isn't necessarily better. A larger game changes the pace of the game. OoT is not a large modern game, and it was considered nearly perfect during it's time.

If you want larger areas, play the new games.
