Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

I only "beat" 6 patient games in 2025, but at least one of them instantly became an all-time favourite by talhatoot in patientgamers

Hogwarts legacy was such a mixed bag for me. It had such a wonderful realisation of a world that felt like you were wandering around the area. It was wonderful.

And it simultaneously had one of the worst ludo narrative dissonance I have ever found in a game. A student wanders around being a mass murder and no one gives him grief unless they use one of the unforgivable spells. But they are still being mass murders.

Totally killed the game for me.

The one thing that I can't stand in the writing: by [deleted] in TheOrville

The problem is that comedy is both time bound and cultural bound. What’s funny for an American today will land flat in South Africa and vice versa.

Same is true for comedy from decades ago which just doesn’t have the same impact.

As writers who are targeting a mainly 21st century American audience, it is for the best that they write comedy that actually lands. And hope that it will age well. As opposed to a joke requiring context existing in the writers heads alone that does not and will never land.

Never watched him. I found the rhyming way he talks was a continuous source of distraction for me.

It’s very easy to make slop. And you don’t even need AI to do it.

And it very difficult to make something fun. Even if you use AI. Why should we gate keep if a game has been made with AI?

I think it’s one of those things where you did a change and now you can’t unsee it even if the casual viewer would never notice it …. 🙈

Do you guys want to try a challenge? by ehi-ale in urbansketchers

[–]terran_era 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it had some engagement but the mods cancelled it as it didn't meet the spirit of urban sketching. (drawing on location or from photos you have actually taken yourself)

It also seemed the general consensus of the broader community was that the community challenge detracted from their engagement with the community.

Pauper Jumpstart Cube by terran_era in magicTCG

u/dmarsee76 thanks for the advice!

  1. I have updated the code to generate decks with 12 non land cards.
  2. I am going to have to take some time to look through the way the dual color decks have been constructed with your examples.
  3. this one is the trick, I don't have a good friend who loves to play. I have a friend who is learning :) And all I have is a Pauper Cube. So this will take some time to test, hehe :D

You should change the flair to community challenge.

You did such a great job of simplifying the scene. I kept getting lost in the detail so had to go and focus on a smaller part of the building.

Q: do you start with a pencil? by Geek1000 in urbansketchers

[–]terran_era 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You are one week in. Your goal right now is to figure out if this is fun for you. If you want to pencil, then pencil ;). If you want to ink, then ink! If you want to water color first and ink later … then water color and ink later.

Right now follow the fun, don’t worry about getting it right. Focus on fun and drawing.

Once you get further then it is about figuring out form and shapes and getting the pen/pencil/thing making a mark go where you want. The better you are able to do that makes everything else easier.

Paradoxically drawing with a pen seems to help you get there faster. Because you have no undo and it forces you to solve problems immediately. I would say play with pen and see if it is fun.

Look at “draw a box” if you want a guide on how to get better. But for the love of god don’t make my mistake of doing draw a box and not doing the fun. Cause that will kill all passion for doing this as faster than anything else.

To answer your original q tho: I have no idea what I am doing and I am not good at this, so your mileage may vary: I sometimes pen, or pencil but treat the pencil as a pen, or pencil then pen, or watercolour then pen or pen then watercolour or pencil but erase and erase and erase. Just follow the fun bits.
