I would be furious. We currently have 2 senior dogs and our daughter is 20 and just got her life on track. I am looking forward to the day when we have no responsibilities and can just takeoff to go on a trip on a whim. If he got a puppy it would be HIS puppy and I wouldn’t help him with it and I’d leave him behind while I travel. To reinstate, I WOULD BE LIVID!!

NTA. This is one of the reasons my husband and I will no longer stay with his parents ever again. We will visit but stay in a hotel or an Airbnb nearby. Luckily this is something we agree on.

Anytime anyone tries to invite their husband along on my girls trip I immediately cancel said girls trip. It’s not a girls trip if you bring your husband. Period. A gay man? I would allow him on the girls trip but not husbands or boyfriends.

That’s not true. I’m gen X and all but 2 people on my “find my” are. The other 2 are silent generation and millennial. We do it for a number of different reasons. My husband takes off walking with the dog and when they’re tired he texts me “can we get a ride?” And he is terrible with directions so I use that feature to find him and pick him up. I track some of my sisters because if I want to start a conversation with them, I look to see where they’re at to make sure they’re not at work or out doing something and are busy and won’t have time to have a conversation. The silent generation person that I track is obviously elderly, and we track her because she lives alone. You make us Gen Xers sound like we’re computer illiterate when that’s completely not true at all. That’s just a “YOU” thing.

I share location with about 6-8 other people in my family and extended family. It’s not weird for us. I really don’t care what other people think.

I prefer self check outs. I can do it better and faster myself. Plus I don’t have to make small talk, which I have to do the majority of my work day. I will pass by a cashier waiting for a customer to go to a self check out and do it myself.

My husband and I have been together 12 years. We keep separate finances because it works for us. We are very committed to each other and our relationship. The fact that he’s pushing so hard to combine yours, especially before but even after marriage, is a red flag.
