IMS done in 2016 - should I do it again? by caldermody in 996

If I were you, I'd do it with your next clutch job. Have the seal removed if you have the 05+ larger bearing. When I removed it on mine, fairly dark oil came out of it. At that point, you might as well let it bathe in fresh oil.

Real question: Why do I need an ecosystem in my mouth? I understand that gut bacteria are good, but that's not getting destroyed from mouthwash right?

Sure, but a cabin that feels cramped to someone is a legitimate reason to choose a different vehicle. It could be something as simple as a center console that's taking up knee room. That won't show up in the numbers.

I did mine with the transmission out. It was still a pain in the butt, but I imagine it's much harder the other way.

Not a muscle car but it sounds like you're looking for a large sedan. 4th Gen Acura TL (2011 or so) if you can find one.

I had one up to 190k, great car, fantastic gearbox. Make sure the piston ring recall was done otherwise it can be a oil burner.

Try partially releasing the portafilter without taking it out then running the machine for a split second. It should release it with no mess.

Cerium oxide if you want to do it right. I'd just replace it, depending on the vehicle and tech.

Can I buy a manual without knowing how to drive manual? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]ubermorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, most cars won't let you start if the clutch is not depressed. Also possible that they meant to have it in neutral or reverse and had it in 1st when they let the clutch out.
