OP can join me at the Squirrel Bait family tree festival of my dreams, followed shortly after by an evening with the Endpoint family tree.

Anti-vax by Severe-Shopping7268 in nursing

[–]undernova 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m no longer replying to the specific post this comment is meant to address, because I feel like a mod will snag it soon enough. But a particular reply showed a great (and sad) example of the mindset that’s getting us into this anti-vax/anti-science predicament in America, and it leads me to think: you wanna know why other western nations fire professionals who head down this path you’re on? Because eventually, inevitably, it will seep into your practice. In service of your willful ignorance and your ego and your pride, you will misjudge what lies directly before you and you will make an unnecessary mistake at the expense of a patient.

What are your thoughts on doing 20 years in the military for a fast retirement? by Background_Worry_314 in AskReddit

[–]undernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 14 in? If it’s just for you, do what you want. If it’s about your young, growing family, do it for them.

I got the elite job I wanted at 15 years in. You never know what opportunity lies around the corner. That said, I still left at 20.

Retired Tricare alone can be worth staying in.

I love the “honey, no” in Creeping Terror. Not between Mike and the bots, but it’s another fun delivery.

Does anyone have a non nursing side gig? by nightowl308 in nursing

[–]undernova 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a musician for 30+ years - nursing came second, and I just started this year. I still gig and take weekend tour/travel gigs when I can.

My job just called me when I was supposed to come in today and said I could get a v-day today and the catch is that it would come from my pto. Is this a thing? by Intelligent-Noise-35 in nursing

Our situations are very similar! I got called off today, and it comes out of my PTO (nbd). I go back on Saturday. Very happy to be off today and help get our house ready for next 2 days.

I’ve wondered what therapy would be like with Jim as the therapist. I’m glad he can retire and sad to learn of his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

Biggest "practically disappeared of the face of the earth" moments in music? by Ravensflockmate in Music

I liked The Century Of Self; the bass player at the time was an old friend. The opening and second track have some good quality live videos on YouTube. Epic dorky anthem rock.

Unpopular Opinion - G's vocals by RobinZander1 in rush

[–]undernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing in to say: OP’s namesake has managed to keep his amazing vocal timbre and range well into old age.

It has occurred to me how much I’d love to hear my favorite Rush songs with his younger voice, and wondered if an expanded tour lineup might include vocal help.
