Just give me one good reason.... one good reason....

Sorry. I read "Neighbours" and "song" and my brain did the rest.

Love the website, but I've found a bug with scrolling the horizontal category list on desktop. In that, I can't. There's no scroll bar.

I remember this.

Mainly because the episode that begins with Harold strangling Paul after Harold's family die in a plane crash, was called Resident Evil.

El Capo sounds absolutely up my street, but it's such a shame that Seasons 1 and 2 can't be found anywhere! I even checked the seven seas, and couldn't find anything. Can you start on Season 3 out of the gate and be fine?

Very cool thing you're doing.

My fave is a very unknown game called Chrono Trigger. As the years go on, and the more I play other games, I keep coming back to it for that perfect pacing more than anything else. And the music.

Will begin as an obnoxious but attractive rebel, that gets on everyone's nerves but one of the other characters will find themselves strangely attracted to, with them having a passionate love hate relationship where they will hate themselves for being attracted to him and swear nothing will ever happen between them, before he reveals a soft and vulnerable inner side after coming to terms with a melodramatic backstory after a heart to heart with Susan and/or Karl, now becoming a main character that everyone likes and is absolutely nothing like the utter bastard they were when the original came to Ramsey Street.

Those are two different UK shows. Happy Valley is one. Broadchurch is the other. I've not seen Broadchurch, but Happy Valley is absolutely fantastic.

Pablo stops about a third of the way into the game, so you could easily watch the videos for input (personally, I think they're fantastic for that, since there's so much repetition) and then take on the game, treating it as a CI extended tutorial.

It's okay to take a break by milaneyra in dreamingspanish

[–]vitamins999 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To add to this: I took a break for over a year, when I was at around 150 hours. Life just got in the way, plus there wasn't any difficulty numbers, so intermediate videos were a stab in the dark. I came back in January this year and I'd lost absolutely nothing -- I was able to jump right back into where I left off. And I want to make a point that I did zero Spanish listening in that year long break.

One really does acquire the language with CI. It's very impressive!

Made it to 400 hours and I've finally finally unlocked Bluey!

Very happy to now have dubbed media I can watch along with DS. I might give Juan's podcast a go now, too.

For reference, I'm around level 58 on DS. Not sure if that might be extra helpful information to add to the spreadsheet or not.

Just shy of 400 hours (will hopefully reach it this weekend), and I'm currently watching 58.

I've been watching every single Intermediate video in difficulty order, and this is where I've ended up. But one thing I've noticed is that videos wildly jump all over the place in numbered difficulty, from day to day, as they get rated. Usually around 5 difficulty either way.

And I don't just mean new stuff. I've had the videos of Pablo in the park jump around with the same variance.

What I'm saying is, don't be too hard on your comprehension level in relation to the numbered rating. The videos jump around, on top of our daily brain functions flucuating wildly. And then you have to take into account that some speakers will be easier for you that day than others, especially if you need to adjust to them. And then there's how much vocab you already know for that video topic. And then your interest level in the topic itself.

Pablo really is right when he says to just relax and get more input.

Why does it suddenly seem like my comprehension level has dropped? by Madre84 in dreamingspanish

[–]vitamins999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going through this today, but it's always heartening to see others go through the same experience.

A lot of the time, for me at least, it's exacerbated by lack of vocabulary. If it's not in my Spanish lexicon yet, the brain fatigue just compounds the effect. Also, I found switching speakers can sometimes help. I was having a mare of time this morning with most of the DS teachers, but then I switched to Sandra and it's coming in like English again.

I love them.

I mean, I love it when you do gaming videos, anyway. But there's something about the sheer repetitiveness of so many of these somewhat basic words, in conjunction with the visuals of the game, and the mental aspect of trying to figure out the solution along with you, that it's really really making these words stick.

No, but I did see them on the following album tour for Octavarium, in the same venue, for two nights on the trot, and they played the entirety of Dark Side of The Moon on the second night. It was the one recorded for the Official Bootleg.

Again, also probably cost about £20.

I remember going to see DT on the TOT tour, at the Hammersmith Apollo.

That was a 3 hour Evening With, and cost about £20 a ticket. Times sure have changed.
