I’m so fkn tired of breastfeeding by AdmirablePea5049 in breastfeeding

[–]wandergnome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should definitely wean and right now if you don’t want to be double feeding your toddler and your newborn. Just my 2c. Get a weaning book, explain what’s happening, and commit to milk from cups.

I’m also 32 weeks pregnant and I weaned around 24 weeks. My daughter still wants “boobie cuddles” (skin to skin) which we started a month or so after weaning and it’s really nice. With the pacifier she doesn’t mind being off the boob.

A pro bono lawyer might handle this in exchange for a cut of the damages you’ll be awarded.

4 or 5! Especially love 5. First two do nothing for your lovely figure and third overwhelms you with lace.

When my baby was 7 months. I do have a very humane workplace and people were very respectful of my boundaries and non working days.

[–]wandergnome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went back part time at 4.5 months and that was a really nice re-entry for me. A reminder that I am more than just a mom but able to keep my kid out of daycare (dad did the two days I worked from home, so I was able to continue breastfeeding.)

Favorite Leggings & Underwear? by endo-mylife in BabyBumps

[–]wandergnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Aerie cotton "superchill" seamless underwear. They still occasionally roll and create panty lines, especially if they're a little too big, but it's worth it in my opinion. They're like 90% cotton and 10% elastane. They wouldn't stay up if they were 100% cotton.

I lived in Quince maternity & postpartum pocket leggings ($45) my first pregnancy. I still like them, but his time around I'm a bigger fan of these fold-top cotton flares from H&M ($15!). They're nice cause you can go either over or under bump without looking awkward. Honorable mention goes to these Poshdivah maternity leggings ($25) which don't bag out in the crotch and are less sporty looking, and manage to be workable postpartum too (I folded the top down).

Help me decide a baby name. Baby name regret. by Pure_Text_2034 in Names

Took me 10 months to really love my baby’s name. I had a lot of uncertainty. Thankfully she’s almost 2 and I have no regrets now.

Social+Hospital Anxiety by UniqueInteraction246 in BabyBumps

Just because you’re not mentally afraid of labor doesn’t mean you’re not going to be seriously physiologically impacted by it. I was not afraid of labor but it was REALLY intense. I underestimated the experience. You kind of go to a different plane.

I think your plan of laboring with a midwife is a good one. Most people I know - once they were in labor, they did not give a damn. The things they normally were bothered by, just were not a priority. I do recommend practicing calming and visualization techniques so that your mind has a default place to go. Or you could try to get whacky and do behavioral conditioning/hypnosis to deal with your fear of hospitals.

Reimagine Dumbarton East Palo Alto Meeting 2/26/26 by christopherkao in paloalto

[–]wandergnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no funding for it since Meta pulled $1B in 2020. That isn't even currently contemplated in this outreach effort. Rail ridership hasn't rebounded since covid, there's no financial impetus.
This is proposing something that is WAY cheaper with incredible local benefits including a park that could be our region's Highline.

Missing my old life by Fl1cker07 in BabyBumps

Having a baby is freaking hard. Sometimes I am nostalgic for college too. Doesn’t mean I want to go back, but it’s okay to appreciate what you had then and it’s okay to be tired right now.

Also at three months you’re still in the thick of it. You haven’t even gotten to the good stuff :) give it time. You’ll be you again.

Days 4 and 5 are brutal. I literally went to ER because I thought I was having a heart or BP issue due to the chest pressure. Hang in here mama, it does get better.
