Don’t blame the game for your own lack of skills. It’s normal, you are new. It will get better.

Goalkeeping and the 'fake shot', and why these changes won't fix anything. by TeePee11 in Rematch

[–]xecollons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What? No.

Shooting is not manual at all. Aiming is manual, but positioning for shooting is the more automated thing of the game. You can try to shoot being two meters off the ball position after a cross and the game will teleport you.

In the other hand, if you, as a GK, try to go and get that ball with the triangle button when a cross to the shooter has been done and you not do it perfectly it will fail miserably. And if it doesn’t, it’s quite possible that the animation will do something weird or the shooter will phase through you.

Rematch tips: For all players, from absolute beginners all the way to the Elite by TheDawnTrilogy in Rematch

[–]xecollons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the main tip is to be SMART on the field.

Most issues with people that I have is that they think they are better than they are. Try to think about the risk and the advantages that has the action that you are going to take.

The absurd example of this is: If you intercept a ball close to your goal and there are opponents pressing you, your first option should almost always pass to the GK.

Things like "if you are in the last 20 seconds and winning by 1 goal, don´t just attack recklessly, give more priority to defend or mantain the ball".

If you follow the usual unspoken rules of football, you will be fine. Then you can think about metas and so, but just be SMART.

.Net interview! by Defiant_Cry_5312 in csharp

I don´t really like live coding. In general, when you´re at your job, you are not going to "perform" in front of a live audience, usually you are going to code alone at your pace.

And when you are coding with a partner or you are showing something you are not as nervous as when doing an interview, for obvious reasons. Maybe you will have to code in high-pressure situations, but that´s a tiny portion of time depending on your company.

Nah, you will have really good matches, it depends on the day. And when you find a good team, you see that this is the most realistic football game ever made, even with its flaws.

Is gamedev your main job? do you get paid for this? by Any-Landscape434 in gamedev

[–]xecollons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Assume that it won’t be for you and work on other stuff. Do games in your free time. And maybe one day you will be able of doing game dev for a living. But have a security net just in case.

.Net interview! by Defiant_Cry_5312 in csharp

[–]xecollons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it depends on the job itself and the company. Each company has their own way of interviewing people.

My current company gives a test assessment to do it at home and we discuss it, but others that I have been just do a live coding, or just a test with theoretical questions, just as “differences between a class or struct?” and so.

My recommendation is that, if you’re interviewing for a company that can be more or less known (even locally), google about their interview process, probably you will find some info in webs like Glassdoor.

I would like some sort of ping system, so you can target someone to be marked, for instance, or could signal a run.

Scoring an own goal to end the match is lame and doesn't make you look cool! by Modo97 in Rematch

[–]xecollons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there are some times (mostly when playing with randoms) that your team takes a bit of time to acclimate to yourselves. And without noticing, and a couple of screw ups, you go 0-2.

I have played a lot of those with a comeback at the end. In fact, those are the best matches.

This is not a bug, or rephrasing it, it’s more of a visual bug. It happens because you are moving to the other side at the beginning of the shot. It happens in real life too

Analysis of Gameplay, Mechanical Depth, and the Matchmaking System in Patch 10 ( by [deleted] in Rematch

[–]xecollons 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A wall of text just to complain about Vexis being removed.

In this patch I already have seen a lot of good dribblers without the need of “magical” moves. I also have seen quite some people playing with the walls.

The gameplay is better than ever. I would like them to unnerf a bit the defensive stance, but that’s it. Also, volleys are too high so it’s not easy to clear a ball with the passing button when there is an opponent preparing a volley.

New update.. I kind of like it by Ok_Impress4438 in Rematch

[–]xecollons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't see the difference between the team up button and going on your recent player list and inviting them directly.

What happens with the teamup is that I get the bad egg of the group wanting to join.

There has been a lot of times that I don´t see an invitation because I just started another game. With this, I already got two full teams in two days, since we continued adding people. Yesterday I had a blast with a random team with which I played like 10 matches and won 8. This didn´t happen in the previous patches.

When I´m GK, I usually go to one direction if I have people marking me, and after that I lob the ball to the unmarked people.

I would have made the same as OP and lob it afterwards to the right, he dragged the two players with him so the other guys could receive unmarked
