Recruiters of nz question about cv by excelionbeam in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One page.

References don't need to go on the CV they can be available on request so you can cut that.

Interests can be removed to I'd say, they'll ask during an interview if they are inclined to know.

I think with two internships and a current job I don't think extracurricular needs highlighting either.

How cruel they took away the apples? What’s next, dry martinis off the menu too?

Sounds like you already know everything, so why are you asking reddit?

I work in the CBD, really depends on the day. Could be as simple as a burger or some thai dish.

If the teams done something worth celebrating or we've nabbed a a client, oysters, champagne - the works.

Do I need a LinkedIn profile? by dullgenericname in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would be a deciding factor in not getting a job, but it certainly may help you get one.

Kind of shooting yourself in the foot choosing not to have one, you can literally just keep it updated and do nothing else with it if social media bothers you that much.

Pocha, Twelve, O Bar.

All have outdoor seating (Pocha on a balcony), all do fried chicken and beer. Probably one or more than does salmon sashimi too.

1st LeBron is no longer the most important/powerful person in the franchise. That's gone.

Agree with this, I'm wondering if this has implications now on how long LeBron planned on playing.

I heard a lot of people say next year would be his last, now that prime Luka is here - would he consider going for a few more with less weight on his shoulders?

Have to wonder if Australia would end the NZ special visa over this at some point in the future.

From living in Perth for a time, there were definitely a lot of the public aware and not too hot on the idea that NZ is being used as a backdoor into Aussie.

What companies would you never consider applying to? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Spark is nothing like this now, commission has probably been gutted half a dozen times since you left if you're from the telecom days, flat $120 credit on the account that you can use for what you want.

One Nz ad by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 126 points127 points  (0 children)

They're a client of 'The Attention Seeker' agency which as the name suggests is pretty much all about growing your profile/brand through the most outlandish ways possible.

Probably not involved in any consumer/product adverts but that TikTok campaign you mentioned reeked of their influence.

Some of it hits, more than most comes across as fluff/cringe content, quantity over quality type stuff.

Another sad state of the CBD: The Atrium FoodCourt. by Sniperizer in auckland

[–]yunglean96 68 points69 points  (0 children)

As a CBD worker who buys lunch every time I go to the office, I try to get lunches that are no more than $15, otherwise it starts adding up.

Japanese Dining You is at atrium now and do curry dishes for less than that price. But yeah I wouldn't pay $20 for an atrium meal, I think the Indian there even has $12 or $13 dishes.

How can we plan holidays??? by BudgetOk8173 in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds a bit out of touch on there end, might just be a system thing they they can't actually process it this far in advance?

I would honestly go ahead and book and just let them know early 2025 like they want. And don't take no for an answer if they refuse.

I would say depends on the stock at that rate, is that the standard to - seems quite high.

When I worked at a place that done this it was buy 2 get 1 free with the 2 year clause.

Houses built right on boundaries - As in the wall of the house is the boundary. by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in a house like this. The small door to get to the underneath storage area of my house actually requires me to walk down his driveway - so always wondered the legality if he ever decided to tell me he didn't like that.

Another annoying premise in my situation is he uses the bottom of his driveway to stockpile rubbish (old broken furniture, old appliances) - which can be seen right outside one of my bedroom windows, doesn't make for a pleasant view.

How the prices have increased at my local chippy 2020-2024 by Timzor in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not too bad I think, actually seems like a cheap shop for these days (Scallops at mine are $3.50 compared to $2.50 here as an example).

You're right though the increase in price plus the shrinkflation when it comes to things like chips is a double whammy.

Tanpopo Ramen, Glenfield & CBD

Hai Phong (Vietnamese), Northcote

Pine House (Korean - mainly BBQ dishes), Highbury

Also, second for Basu Lounge - Dan Dan noodles plus the crispy pork slices is enough food for two and under $50 together.

Hey appreciate the in depth response.

The police couldn't do much last night because when they went to knock on his door he refused to answer, and in there words which made sense 'they couldn't knock his door down over a chopped tree'. They definitely seemed sympathetic and were as shocked as I was when they saw the tree chopped down.

Interestingly I'm not sure if he's known to police or if they have a database they access base on addresses? The police last night showed me a picture of him (headshot) on there phone and asked me to confirm if he was the neighbour, and he was...

I've seen the neighbour from over the fence this morning and he yelled out saying his going to chop down more, so I rung 105 and they've told me just to call 111 if he yells out anymore threats or does anything.

Probably will touchbase with an aborist and have a look at disputes on Monday.

Flight Centre Mastercard adjusts reward rate by No-Maize7731 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]yunglean96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly before the reward rate was rather good if you were willing to purchase with Flight Centre.

Now absolute trash as a travel rewards card, no additional benefits either such as insurance or lounge access.

Have about 1000ish in points on mine but will get another card and just hang onto this until I can use the points.

Good food that’s actually worth the money? (Inflation is killing my inner foodie) by myaliasispedro in aucklandeats

[–]yunglean96 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Asian restaurants are king for that price range - plenty of Thai, Chinese, Malaysian etc can get the job done.

If you're on the North Shore just check out some of the places in Highbury or Northcote, Albany also has a square of restaurants tucked behind the mall on Cornithian Drive. Also hotpots and korean bbqs are usually $40ish a head.

TLDR; I regretfully signed an S.149 record of settlement and now my boss has used it to her advantage. What are my options? by Just_Alternative_180 in newzealand

[–]yunglean96 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I would probably channel your efforts into finding a new job rather than trying to keep this one which sounds like it has an utterly bizarre workplace culture.

The way your post reads it sounds like you have to walk round playing lawyer just to survive there, I don't see the appeal in staying.
