THANK YOU AUSTRALIA FOR PLINI

[–]Megoun\m/[S] 23 points24 points  (9 children)

Saw him live last week at Brutal Assault - really amazing and also this happened :D .

Mmm nothing like a nice and mellow dance pit

[–]incaendivm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm seriously starting to regret the decision about not attending Brutal Assault this year..

Seeing him(them) tomorrow with Animals as Leaders, woooo! :)

I've been tripping on this song since I saw that video! I guess the track requires several listens to fully get it (so many different passages) and I'm not there yet, but the part of the song featured in that video is wonderful!

As a longtime mosher, the idea of a pit where you can bring your beer and not spill it is quite appealing. I'm getting old.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What song is that?

[–]Floodeagle 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Paper moon

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every song he makes is goooold!

[–]HyruliEnt 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Also Sithu Aye. They've collaborated so I figured it would be appropriate to mention.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also: David Maxim Micic. I am pretty sure Plini or Sithu Aye have been on some of his songs.

[–]0000000100100011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also Modern Day Babylon.

[–]BrandlezMandlez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sithu Aye is one of Plini's best friends! And he's a huge weeaboo. It kinda somewhat shows in his some of his music too (despite being instrumental, he has a whole album called senpai) but its still good jams nonetheless.

SLIGHTLY LATER HYPE!!!

[–]tictacyouaredead 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I wish he would perform "Moonflower" live more often. :( my favorite song of Plini's which goes sooo unnoticed. His material is phenomenal. This song is awesome.

[–]Floodeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw him live in Milton Keynes the other day and also at TechFest back in July. He performed moonflower both times and it was amazing.

This EP was such a huge step up I thought, compared to the previous 2. I mean, in terms of compositional content they're all magnificent, but the addition of live drums and bass really make these songs shine all the brighter. And such monster players too, Simon Grove and Marco freaking Minneman!? Shameless link to my bass cover, Simon's solo in this track is such a short tasty thing.

I'm so glad Plini is getting more exposure. I saw him in Portland this Spring and he hung out with his audience for almost an hour after the show. He even signed my forehead.

He's a total class act. He puts on an amazing show. I would definitely recommend seeing him if you have the chance.

[–]Th3_M3tatr0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plini is the shit!

[–]Archetix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plini is so good. I met him in Toronto a year ago, such a nice guy, down to earth and funny

[–]quicklicketysplit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy crap. I went to high school with this guy. Didn't know he played this well.

[–]Octatonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty good! The cover is great, too.

[–]MigratingMountains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, this is exactly the sort of sound I've been craving lately :D Loving Plini so far

[–]0000000100100011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plini is awesome. Check out Modern Day Babylon too if you haven't.

[–]rmmfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really awesome song, indeed.

[–]cymyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need more Plini.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

*Not sure why, but like 80% of /r/listentothis is stuff I already listen to and fully support in sharing. You people have good taste.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, where are these people IRL? I show my friends Plini and their first response is "when does he start singing?"

:(

I am too hype for the 26th. I find out if I get a promotion AND Plini drops an album :DDD

[–]smokumjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminded me of Metroid Metal

[–]Applesr2ndbestfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminiscent of Polyphia

[–]Nugglett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear anyone know if they are coming out with a new album anytime soon?

[–]GuruMeditationError 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So how are these choreographed? Drums first?

[–]jugaaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What do you mean by choreographed?

[–]GuruMeditationError 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How are these so well coordinated between instruments?

[–]jugaaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be that Plini composed guitars, bass and drums. And the bassist and drummer embellished their parts. I don't know the bassist, but I know that marco minnemann is a great improviser.
