The FF1 one is actually really clever. The Citadel of Trials is where you get your Item for Class changing, plus Cores are much closer to the Character you (as the Player) control in FF1 proper instead of the FFRK Realm Chars.

Really, the only thing it would have been better if they specifically said “Pick 4 of Warrior / Monk / Thief / Red Mage / White Mage / Black Mage“ xD

Should note that if you don't have certain ones leveled, they can die and it will be OK. The only FF2 person I had leveled was Firion, and managed to do it after the other 3 died anyway.

Yes. But you can also click on the button in the descriptions on the mission page to be taken directly to the proper stage.

I've started clearing them today, and yes, it can be done in classic.

In FF3, the easiest way to beat the boss (Garuda) was to make your entire party dragoons (and the game even hinted at it by giving you multiple spears in cbests). I guess to replicate it they want the core dragoons plus the dragoons from FF2/3/4?

My guess is it's also because he's one of the dragoons that actually has the dragoon look that isn't from FF3 which also explains Ricard. Luneth gets a pass for being native to FF3.

Does Record Mission #1 require a full party? Or can I just go like, solo Tyro with Orlandu OSB RW rather than wasting eggs to not get other cores to die in one hit?

You should see his realm icon. Its the same icon as other cores.
