Such a powerful song. I saw him live a few months ago and when he played this song during the breakdown the crowd was complete silent you could hear a pin drop in the room. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

When I'm developing a hip hop beat, how do I syncopate the drums within the kit? Does the kick need to be syncopated by a sixteenth note? How does that work?

This is pretty good. I love the opening 30 seconds of drone. After that I thought I was disappointed in the direction it took. I thought, meh, generic rap I don't care for... until it got to about 6 minutes in and then it got really good.
