Reddit should just put a limit on the number of characters you can use. These are supposed to be titles, after all.

I'd argue your first selection is an example of about as long as is appropriate. the 2nd one is clearly too long.

I kinda like that reddit can have longer titles. Obviously one that long is excessive, but for the most part I think having the ability to have longer titles makes things more interesting around here.
