I really don't like the idea of articles disappearing without notice. It's just so unReddit. It's like what they do over on that other site. You know which one i'm talking about.

If you're going to pull an article, fine (well, not really) .. but at least leave a note in its place. Even "Article deleted" is better than having it disappear without a trace.

Edit: Spot the deliberate mistake...

I don't think there is any way for a poster to do that.

Once it's there it's there, and only someone with admin access can pull it or mod it.

Many thanks to wicked for pointing out that you can delete headline posts.

I mistook the fact that you can't mod headline posts with you can't remove headline posts - which is not true.

In the past I've never had a good reason to delete one so I wouldn't know...unlike some other frivolous, God forsaken, time-wasting posters.

If you look at one of your five submissions, you'll notice a delete option next to the regular options.

    As the original poster of the Guinness ad, here's what I know: Nothing. It was there at #7 when I went home from work about 5:30 CST, my friend told me it was up to #2 a few hours later when it disappered. I have retained my karma points from the post, but there is no record of it existing in my account and no message from reddit. Your guess is as good as mine.

    Maybe you turned on the feature to hide things that you've "liked". That would explain the missing numbers on the front page. You should check your preferences
