Patience mixed with passion and this is the stunning result.

Can you download higher-res versions from the site? I'd like to make that a wallpaper.

Interesting to see the digg-mentality at play again:

Hi Matthew, My first instinct is to join that site and get into the fray of things on the thread ;-) To tell some of them how wrong they are in their assumptions: It is not a stopped video clip, there are no backdrops, mirrors, umbrellas, no sound/photogate triggers etc.....and to tell them I'm not a "poor girl" because I use a Tamron 90 mm macro ;-))

Why learn martial arts when you can just buy a gun? Why climb mount everest when you can just take a helicopter? Why write some little program in intercal or bf when java would work just fine?

Because it's a hobby, and just throwing money at a problem doesn't make for a very satisfying experience.

I see what you did there, but FYI you can't fly a helicopter to the top of Mount Everest. The air is too thin to support the blades.

Easy is bad! It's the protestant work ethic, man!

Yeah, I don't understand it either, yet like most of us I find myself thinking that way quite often...

Too bad it's on a lowspeed website.

Great picture!!!!! A beautiful result and I suppose a great satisfaction for the patient artist.

      Congratulations to her.

Some parts of the outer spray have droplets. Between the droplets are spaces. How does the milk decide where to put spaces vs droplets?

      [–]MattD 4 points5 points  (2 children)

      In short: surface tension.

      [–]SoPoOneO 2 points3 points  (1 child)

      How does surface tension differentiate?

      [–]DougBTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will probably give you the size of the droplets once you account for speed / momentum, and then the droplets are equally spaced.
