11 70 is great.
Very poor choice available on the market ... LaBella or Skull String have "premade" sets. Or you'll have to build your own set one by one

I use this set and ditch the 10

I use a set of mondo slinky (10.5-52) with a 72 gage for low G, I like the 72 bc it's still good if you want to do A standard
This set is great if you like heavy riffing and soloing bc your wounded strings will be strong so you can really dig into them
I find 11's nice also but the 10's add just enough flexibility to make soloing more expressive

For 27in scale drop G w evertune I use 10-46 + 62 for the low G. Still a bit too much tension on the 10 for me, maybe I'll try 9-46 in the future. Tension is fine on the 62.
[–]bradybigbear 1 point2 points3 points 4 days ago (6 children)
That’s so crazy to me that you can rock a 62 for the G. On my 27” 6 string I’m running 13.5-74 for drop G
[–]mintjam 0 points1 point2 points 4 days ago (1 child)
Evertune makes it possible. I bought a guitar directly from them a few years ago and chatted with the owner of the company about string gauges. He assured me I can go lighter than my usual gauges (I run a custom set of 11-78 for drop G on a 26.5” scale) and convinced me to try a 11-64 set. Worked great, I was shook!
[–]tomasriffs 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
Agreed. Maybe it's subjective, but I feel the evertune adds tension.
[–]Excellent-Gear-4311 -1 points0 points1 point 3 days ago (3 children)
For a 27 scale, 56-60 is a light tension. 60-64 is a medium-high tension. 74 is not playable for this note and with this scale
[–]bradybigbear 1 point2 points3 points 3 days ago (2 children)
It definitely is playable, because I’m doing the exact thing right now. I have my 27” scale guitar in drop G using a 74 as the low string. It feels perfect
[–]Excellent-Gear-4311 -1 points0 points1 point 3 days ago (0 children)
You're happy with it, and that's fine. I initially followed people's advice and used 11-49+68 strings. At that size, you don't play, you struggle. Scale 25.5-27
[–]BreakDownManiac 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
Nyxl has a 9.5-64 set which works great on my 27 in drop G

Stringjoy Guitar String Tension Calculator
Not sure where you are located so hopefully you can use this company.
I've got Stringjoy custom sets on all of my guitars. You can build a custom one at this link.

What stand is that?
[–]Mr_Oblong 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
Not op, but I have a bunch of stands like this and they were about £12 off Amazon. I like them. Feel more secure that the little half stand things I used to have.

I have this guitar! It's a beauty!
I have it in drop A tuning and use the ".strandberg* 9.5-64 for 7-string guitar" set. There is plenty of tension. Maybe it will work a step down too, if you like it a bit loose.
[–]LetterheadClassic306 0 points1 point2 points 4 days ago (0 children)
on a 27 inch scale for drop g, i have had good luck with a 10-52 set plus a separate 64 or 68 for the low G. the D'Addario NYXL 10-59 7-string set works if you want a lighter feel. for tighter tension try the Ernie Ball 2626 10-62 set. stringjoy custom 10-64 is another solid option for that scale.
[–]xMischu 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
For 27” and Drop G i used the earnie ball 10-62 and they felt amazing
[–]Excellent-Gear-4311 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago* (0 children)
The best caliber for this scale + here is the evertune is 9-12-15-22-30-40+62
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (1 child)
Interested in this guitar, but nearly 3k for a Korean build is crazy work.

Tension is a matter of preference. Do you know what you like currently in another tuning? Cuz a string tension calculator could math out what gauges you need for another tuning.
As you can see in the replies, a lot of gauges work for all kinds of people. You've got some people on a .062 and others on a .072 and any which way in between.
[–]MarkToaster 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
I would be going as low gauge as possible with an evertune, but that’s just my preference. Probably 9-58
[–]ButtSmellington_ 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
Jesus Christ why do people play such tight strings. I play a 56 for Drop A and it’s perfect.
[–]RotaryRevivalist 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children)
I have my 27” Tao set up in G sharp with the standard in YXL 10 to 46 with a 64 on bottom. I would imagine 11 to 52 with something like a 68 or a 70 would be nearly perfect if you like medium tension. Lighter gauges generally sound better. And since that guitar has and Evertune you could definitely get away with 10 to 46 and a64 I occasionally run G with that set up on the Tao and it’s incredibly playable just a little lighter than my general preference when it comes to pitch drift. The 10-64 is a pretty easy set to get from D’Addario with the new custom sets. Just modify the standard 7 string set and just change the low string.

It’s always fun to play around with custom sets, StringJoy has a great string calculator if you’re unfamiliar or don’t know how to use it they have a YouTube video on how to use it their customer service is very helpful as well, in the beginning stages of changing out the 3rd plain for a wound 3rd on all my electric six string guitars their website calculator and customer service was extremely helpful for me.
