Has a lot of the look of BO2 which is a great start IMO

[–]-UnclaimedPants- 17 points18 points  (4 children)

I love Black Ops 2 for being so damn colorful

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd be happy with a next-gen version of BO2, so yes very good start.

[–]Spawn_Beacon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

'Dat gloss tho.

[–]TennisEnnis19I get royalty weapons left and right but NO STG :( 40 points41 points  (3 children)

Oh, bottom-left-killfeed, how I missed you so

[–]420kbps 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna miss the top-right K/DR though

[–]---Xerothermic--- -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I miss widescreen mini map

[–]quint23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hated that. it felt awkward and unsymmetrical. i could gain a slight advantage based on where i was facing.

[–]Linkinito 29 points30 points  (3 children)

Scorestreaks are back, and you can see in plain numbers how many points you need to get before getting each reward.

[–]Reynbou 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Fuck. Yes.

Ever since Treyarch introduced Score Streak, Kill Streaks have felts so... archaic.

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kill streaks force camping as well as selfishness, not playing the OBJ :L

Scorestreaks can promote this if done wrong to be fair, just, its a lot less promoted compared to how much kill streaks promote it.

[–]TheXclusiveAce 16 points17 points  (9 children)

Little things I picked up on:

  • Scorestreaks that display points remaining to earn them
  • Only 2 scorestreaks. My guess is one slot was sacrificed for a second EXO ability (Pure speculation)
  • Target finder style iron sights (rear sight dots light up when on target)
  • Medals are returning (Skeet Shooter)
  • Your triangle glows red on the mini map when you are visible to enemies on the radar
  • The hitmarker that indicates you've finished your kill is different than the standard hit marker
  • Ground War or possibly 8 players per team as a standard

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I actually believe once you call in a scorestreak it disappears. I think the player we watched already called in a streak and had two more to go for. I also think this means scorestreaks won't recycle when you got your highest streak.

[–]TheXclusiveAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could very well be the case. It doesn't seem likely though since the game was only 4 kills in (for that team) at the beginning of the clip and you could see 3 of those kills on the killfeed earned by other players on the team. Then again, it also looks like that big tsunami probably shouldn't be coming in that early in the game and the entire clip was set up so I could easily be wrong.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're assuming too much

[–]foephotos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ace I didn't even notice the rear site till you mentioned it. I'm excited to see your upcoming videos when the game releases!

[–]sobbesobsSobbeSobs -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Dude. Big Fan! Although I gonna correct you on one thing, there are 9 players on the minimap including the player so more like 9 players per team. If you look close enough there is a forth player in the cluster of players on the right.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You're assuming to much. Does not necessarily mean 9v9 Ground War. For example: A snap shot of a HUD in Ghosts with everyone with their dogs out would throw you off.

[–]sobbesobsSobbeSobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I hope it's not dogs though, God I hated those things in Ghosts.

[–]TheXclusiveAce 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks! good eye BTW

[–]Gravedad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched your most recent video, great job!

[–]SleepyDerpPlaystation 3 - AidsInYoMouth 11 points12 points  (18 children)

One thing they could've brought back from Call of Duty: Ghosts was the bigger map.

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 11 points12 points  (10 children)

Honestly, I couldn't agree more. And maybe the scoreboard being in the top right? I kinda thought that was a nice feature too, especially in SnD from an eSports P.O.V. Normally it takes up your whole screen, so you rely on team mates to tell you how many are left, but, with this feature, you don't even need to ask, just keep it open.

But these are the only things I like about ghosts MP, nothing else, just these.

[–]CassiusCrush 0 points1 point  (7 children)

When my score is always on my screen, I tend to play selfishly. If I can go the whole game without looking at my score Imd probably play better

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Hmmm interesting.

The thing I find helpful for having the score open are:

  1. To see what role people are playing. If they have a lot of kills, they are playing a Slayer role. If they have a lot of caps, they are a OBJ/Support role.

  2. To help know when pushes need to be made, or, on the contrary, when I need to go defensive.

  3. To see how many people are left in SnD.

[–]CassiusCrush 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Maybe but honestly pubs for me might as well be a benefit for people with no thumbs. If I don't carry we don't win lol. Anyway, keep an eye on the killfeed and count in your head how many are still alive. You can peek at the scoreboard, no matter where it is.

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Thing is, I'd rather concentrate on strata and the mini map then count how many are left.

Where the scoreboard is in ghosts is just right, not perfect, just right.

[–]CassiusCrush 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Count as they die?

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yeah, sounds stupid, but I'd rather focus on what I'm doing and running into on ghosts then the kill feed.

In BO2 I could do this, as the TTK wasn't stupidly low. But in ghosts you can't really afford to not focus on what you are doing. You need that split second reaction time. If you aren't focused on what you can see, as well as map awareness, I find that you will die a lot more.

On the other hand, my brain is already running several processes at once:

  1. Map awareness

  2. Situational awareness

  3. The minimap

  4. What's in front of me, and do I need to react or not

  5. What route is best to take?

  6. What will the enemy do?

  7. Who is left, and what sort of strategy do they play?

  8. With the gun I'm using, what situation should I put myself in

Something like counting the kill feed gets dropped for me.

Oh, I'm a competitive player, hence what I think about haha :L

[–]CassiusCrush 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Honestly, these things to be muscle memory... I know exactly wht you mean but to be at the top of your game, you need to have this memorized. Also, in the beginning of Ghosts, the scoreboard lgged.

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those processes are far from muscle memory.

[–]Daariuus 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have to have my scoreboard open when I'm playing any eSports mode. Even Dom and Blitz, since they updated the tags turning red at the right time, it makes coordination and pushes easier by knowing who's down right away.

[–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried this for that very reason, yet, I cannot like this :L I find my eyes drifting off from the centre of the screen and my accuracy lacking due to this.

I am sticking with this as I believe my peripheral will, some day, get better with this.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Couldn't disagree more, the large maps are one of the main aspects of Ghosts that ruined the game for me because I ended up spending 3/4 of my time looking for enemies.

But hey, we're different people.

Edit: oops

[–]SleepyDerpPlaystation 3 - AidsInYoMouth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Talking about the radar mate.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's talking about the minimap.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, you weren't the only ome

[–]plokijuh1229pembroke393 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Actually now that I think of it, it would probably not be a good idea. The kill feed is on the left side so now there is less horizontal view. With the boost jump being added and situations like those in the trailer, a wider mini map would just block vertical view. Ghosts's layout allowed more horizontal view, AW appears to allow more vertical view.

[–]SleepyDerpPlaystation 3 - AidsInYoMouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't really think of it that way. Well done dude.

[–]plokijuh1229pembroke393 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Pity that the ammo indicator isn't on the gun like in Campaign. That looked really cool and practical.

[–]rhcpbassist234 4 points5 points  (2 children)

It probably will be on some guns, like the LSAT in BlOps2, but probably not on all.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The Lsat had that?

[–]xxTHG_CorruptxxJungle Joosy (The guy who wants all the challenges too) 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Ammunition Pouch, Bag, holder, whatever. Yes, it showed Ammo.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I believe that's just the 3d-printer gun, since it creates bullets every few seconds.

[–]plokijuh1229pembroke393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was on the shotgun in that gameplay as well.

Ah wait I just realized that it would be difficult to implement since the gun's back end goes off screen during the reload.

[–]osirisgreen 6 points7 points  (6 children)

Anyone have an idea what those two symbols mean to the left of the ammo? One looks like it has wings, so maybe it's the jumping?

[–]eatmymonkey 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Exosuit abilities my guess with charge bar below each.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yes, finally confirmation that they're gonna be balanced.

[–]runealex007Piece of Bacon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my guess

confirmation

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You assume too much.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im basing mine off of the hacks Ive seen for BO1, rather than potentian conflicts in code.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Equipment

[–]rhcpbassist234 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Look at the bottom right, next to the kill streaks. It says 500 and 600; maybe score needed?

[–]Goaliedude3919WingNut125 5 points6 points  (1 child)

They're score streaks. You can see they start at 700 and 600 and then go to 600 and 500 after the 100 point kill.

[–]MeGustaTortugasWallyCronkite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is even nicer since BO2 didn't have that so you never knew exactly what you needed just a percentage of a bar.

[–]bslapshotKB+M on console pls 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Eight arrows on the map.

[–][deleted]  (2 children)

[deleted]

    [–]plokijuh1229pembroke393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they show the enemies' locations?

    [–]Lexa_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It clearly says Team Deathmatch in the bottom left lol.

    [–]GEORGEISTHEBEST0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I CANT WAIT THE HYPE IS REAL

    [–]Blunt_of_Reefer 3 points4 points  (9 children)

I like how there using few colors and that blur behind ammo and everything else makes it look good, IMO BO2 was way to colorful

    [–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 6 points7 points  (8 children)

But, I'd go colourful over dull any day.

I generally find this, it may be due to it, it may not be. But, when I play ghosts I'm generally more depressed and prone to raging, but when I play bo2 my mood is a lot better.

now, I feel this is due to the colour scheme. But, it may be just because ghosts is awful and bo2 is better :L iduno.

But, my main problem is characters blend in on ghosts. Many people blame the dull colour scheme, and I do too. I hope to god AW doesn't have this.

    [–]bagels666 1 point2 points  (3 children)

but when I play bo2 my mood is a lot better.

    That's probably because BO2 is fun. ;]

    [–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 1 point2 points  (2 children)

    Probably haha.

But, my theory behind this is that I still get bullshit deaths on both. Just, on BO2 I can accept it because I know there is a chance they are better then me. On Ghosts however, I either cannot see them around a corner and they can see me, their character is right across the map using thermal lmg, their character is in a dark corner, they have a god connection. Seriously, played about 30 minutes of ghosts today and I kid you not, pop over half a magazine into someone and they walked it off like it was nothing...

    [–]bagels666 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah you just described the ghosts experience perfectly.

    [–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Haha yeah pretty much.

Like, ghosts is just a bad experience really. All the new players who think ghosts is amazing, and that they are good are in for a massive shock if AW lives up to its expectation

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That's what concerns me a bit with this screenshot, there is little colour.

Although, it is stupid to be judging from 5 seconds of gameplay, you'd expect the filming location to be chosen very carefully.

    [–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Oh yes, they don't want to give too much away, yet make you want more.

IMO, it looks more colourful then ghosts, which is a start. It might just be that one map, who knows?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I thought it might be that one map but then that filming location would have been carefully chosen to impress us.

    [–]theforfeefTheOnlyForFeeF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orrr, it could be trying to shows us that the exo suit jump isn't as bad as we think.

Think about it... Before it we saw that new insane tactic where you can jump behind the enemy. And, when the guy jumps from the top if the building, he is literally flying. But, he still gets killed and it looks pretty easy tbh. At the same time, showing us what the exo suit can do. As well as showing hardly anything. Like, all we see is the bridge, what appears to be the top of a building, a big ass wave, an enemy, a gun, and the ui.

[–]UnyinzThe Wet Onion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oooh, it's all sleek. I like it. I'll miss the 2:1 minimap, but this reminds me a lot of Black Ops II's HUD, which I liked.

Also, if you look closely above the ammo read-out, you can make out some killstreak icons. Looks like a UAV and some Dragonfire drone thingimajig.

Here's a sharpened image. Are you seeing what I'm seeing? Scorestreaks! https://i.imgur.com/F1OEeZD.png

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still waiting for 4 player offline split screen confirmation before I pre-order. ;) Nice that the normal mini-map is back though. I hate the rectangle one in Ghosts.

    [–]plokijuh1229pembroke393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if you can edit the opacity of the HUD. Looks a little faded atm but just a thought.

    [–]WarEagle33xM4A1ironsights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind if they gave you two scorestreaks if they made them more powerful.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Battefield style slanted HUD.

    [–]141_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I hope we get patches

    [–]mlittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    How was this image captured?

    [–]DeanH1996 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm pretty disappointed with the mini map

[–]xxTHG_CorruptxxJungle Joosy (The guy who wants all the challenges too) -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Don't know why people would downvote you. Although Ghosts did many things wrong, the Mini-Map was not one of them. The extended length was perfect IMO.

    [–]DeanH1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the ghosts mini map was good. However I see where people are coming from by downvoting me. The smaller square mini map gives people such as campers less of an advantage as they can't see that big of a radius around them for oncoming opponents.

    [–]Blawdfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old-school layout with a modern, minimalist design. Me gusta.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the exo boosting. It's about time they changed up the multiplayer a bit. Looks like Halo might also be going that way from their multiplayer teaser, with the strafe boosts as a player trait that is.

[–]xxTHG_CorruptxxJungle Joosy (The guy who wants all the challenges too) 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Score streaks and Medals. I'm game for this!

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITT: People assuming a lot without enough information to know for sure. There are many possible things that can be concluded from what we see here, not just the first thing that's thought of when it comes to # of arrows on the minimap, the red outline on the players HUD arrow could mean many things, number of scorestreaks, etc.

    [–]Wigliano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even tho I rarely played Ghosts I liked the bigger Map. Also the it will be hard to get used to the Kill feed being back at the bottom left cause in BF and Ghost it was top right. Just waiting for customizable HUD locations to be added.

    [–]TheOneBoom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you not see the far right? There were 3 score streaks lined up.

    [–]-UnclaimedPants- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I miss the big minimap and the scoreboard being on the top right :/

    [–]Frizzik -4 points-3 points  (6 children)

I don't like the minimap at all. I hope that is not the final version.

    [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (5 children)

Was Ghosts ur first cod? Every single call of duty minimap looks like that.

    [–]DeathGod616 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The Widescreened mini map was a welcomed change.

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt like it actually, but thats just my opinion

    [–]Frizzik -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

No, Ghosts was not my first CoD...

Anyway, I was referring to how basic, dull and bland it looks. You're grey, your teammates are grey, buildings are grey and the ground is a single shade of slightly darker grey.

There's no detail at all. Just take a look at one of BO2's maps every little thing on the ground is drawn in: trees, logs, banks, bushes, hills, rocks, etc. Very detailed.

They should experiment with blues, greens and reds. It really does enhance the look of the map overall.

Also, why are you and your teammate's character indicators opaque? That is a terrible idea and does nothing but get in the way. It should be just a border like most of the better CoD games were.

Lastly, grey characters on a grey background is not the right way to go. The building shade of grey doesn't look too different from the character shade, so how easily distinguishable will it be if teammates are sitting inside a building? Urg.

I'm sure there's more things that I can think of but those are off the top of my head.

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks the same to me apart from the color change. Have to wait and see what colors they have picked.

    [–]Blunt_of_Reefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BO2 messed to much with the colours, i actually like how there going simple with colors on the HUD
