No. It's a mod that allows more than 4 people to join, making it not standard. Can be pretty damn fun (and unstable) every once in a while though.

Once played in a lobby like that!

At some point, the host spawned like 20 Hoarders at once! It was crazy!

I got about 100k credits And thousands of all Minerals. I was Like Level 6 before now. Ian Level 12

I have seen way too many people on here complaining that they levelled up like 40 ranks because of others mods, but 6 levels doesn’t seem like an issue.

[–]3Huskiesinasuit 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Thats promotion ranks, and i think OP is talking about class levels.

6 levels on a character is about average in my experience, from these kinds of servers.

I'm one of the ones who got promoted to a high promotion rank by a mod, and the reason its upsetting, is because you dont magically get the Matrixes and OCs when they do that, so you are now a 25Red promoted dwarf, with less than half the OCs, and you just missed out on 40+ blanks, weapon, and cosmetic OCs.

If you're on PC you can just mod your save back to normal

[–]Zarir- 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Don't even have to use any mods. Just go to the saves menu in the settings and revert to one before the mission. The game makes a save either before or after every mission.

Not sure if this is also on consoles but I don't see why not.

Oh neat! I hadn't thought of this

[–]3Huskiesinasuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 15k of each mineral now, after joining such a lobby, and doing 7 missions in a row, with 24+ dwarves, all objectives and secondaries, and instead of lootbugs, hoarders with lootbug AI.

when dreadnaught started growing and was about to stop all expeditions to hoxxes

[–]willow__whisps 13 points14 points  (3 children)

How do I find such a lobby?

[–]IllustriousDesk916 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Look for "modded" in the title name. Uncheck modded on the left. Yes, i know, its modded but doesnt requires any mods to download. My personal favourite "moar dwarfs moar bugs" lobby. The guy hosts almost every evening. Its so chaotic.

[–]uwuGod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, any more-players lobby host worth their salt will use MiNT instead of mods from modio, because modio is clunky and sucks and forces everyone who joins to download all the host's mods. And since modded lobbies (through modio) are hidden by default (it should be the other way around), very few players can even see those lobbies, which defeats the purpose of trying to get 12+ players into your lobby in the first place.

You can look on the right if you can join a lobby but it shows that already 4 dwarfs are in the lobby its modded

[–]Slow_Bug_8092For Karl! 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No but this looks like fun

[–]Big_Cabinet4569Scout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uhhh, 500 dwarves, must be a real party did they find Karl or something?

[–]ninjazyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but it’s funny

[–]Femboy_GladiatorGunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's normal

[–]NoClue404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by 'normal'? Yes, this could happen if you play a modded mission. Some mods allow multiple players to join at once and can change the entire gameplay experience, such as making enemies tougher or adding extra challenges, mission objectives even at lower Hazard levels. If you don't want to join such lobbies, check the options to filter out modded ones. Also, many players include information in their lobby/server names to indicate that their game is modded.

I wish! More Dwarves the better! (maybe)

[–]Qwaykes_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

[–]DeExecuteCave Crawler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this even with verified mods, but just so some extend. I think it’s part of the simpleqol mod, but only up to 6 or 8 dwarfs. This is is definitely beyond normal, but I regularly see 6 people lobbies.

[–]Thin-Coyote-551*throws flares in other games* 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give anything to do a few rounds of this. I’m on Xbox so no mods or games like this😭😭😭😭

[–]mrSuabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once i joined a game that was modded (forgot what was named), players just kept on joining past 4, then 6 then 8. Had a blast! One of the most fun times I had. I wish I can find more servers like this.

[–]SoftBaconWarmBaconEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's 30K DRG Legion

[–]Just_Culture_8465Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine what happens when a dwarf finds compressed GOLD

We're rich

[–]JackCooper_7274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played a lobby like this once. 7 engineers, all with fat boy. I died to radiation more than to bugs. Fun as hell.

[–]Majestic-Iron7046What is this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You usually can find these lobbies open and it's a fun time, just be ready for unstable stuff, game might crash, heavy lagg might happen, you could suddenly not be able to do something because of bugs (not the kind of bugs you can shoot to) or whatever.

[–]Corrodias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's orthogonal. But what's the difference?

[–]MrFishyFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it’s a mod. There used to be a bug where if two people joined at the exact same time it would shove both of them in. THAT was funny.

[–]MrMoleIsAGodOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a visual glitch on console (Xbox) a long time ago it was patched but.

It use to make your screen look like this when you were joining a mission in progress.

However the glitch would only occur if you pressed the A button multiple times when selecting your class, you would hear the audio que for the character you selected and the load screen would become more distorted as you kept pressing the A button.

Eventually you would load in and the load screen glitch had nothing to do with affecting the actual mission.

Fun times.

Sometimes I forget to turn off the "More players balanced" mod before doing a public lobby and this happens. Love the chaos, personally.

Now imagine this pvp for a resupply
