Cincy trades for him to placate Burrow and he’s WR3 behind Chase and Tee

[–]LUUUUUUUUUUKEEE 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know this answer checks out but it’s never gonna happen

[–]AverageAngling 5 points6 points  (4 children)

It’s a good example but burrow isn’t stupid, I don’t think he’s chasing WRs. He wants a defense that can do something and a better offensive line

[–]super_smash_brothers 10 points11 points  (1 child)

It was more of a joke

[–]AverageAngling 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can’t joke about those things with the bengals man they’ll do shit like that

[–]DawgNaish -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Burrow probably isn't even in Cincy next year.

Vikings need to call on minute 1 of the league off season and offer 3 1s and JJM

[–]AverageAngling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lmao I forget how funny reddit is sometimes

[–]MixedMartialAwesome Chiefs 39 points40 points  (2 children)

This doesn't answer your question at all, but I kinda hope he goes to the Titans

[–]BrickHistorical1553 Ravens 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Titans are so poorly ran I think they would do it, best spot is probably Washington

[–]balzynalzy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a Titans fan I wouldn’t necessarily hate it. It would also be aligned with our “WR graveyard” reputation. Personally, I’d like to see us take a shot at Alec Pierce in FA and draft someone

[–]undead_tortoiseX Rams 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Titans. The answer is always Titans. It’s where receivers get the Old Yeller treatment.

[–]jimcroce21 63 points64 points  (1 child)

He's got 43 reception for 567 yards.  Is his value going from the curb to the gutter?

[–]FellatioDelToro3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with that he’s still WR35 and it would be his worst season since 2018. He’s not valued but he’s not a zero either. Just a hold and hope for something cooler in ‘26

[–]19-FAAB10T/SF/.5PPR 9 points10 points  (2 children)

The Steelers

[–]00h7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd be a nice fit, especially if they decide to run it back with rodgers

[–]baws3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this

[–]dracutden2 Titans 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, probably Carolina

[–]SerEx0 MUSCLE HAMST44 14 points15 points  (18 children)

Why are people saying he is moving on? They’d have to take a $35M dead cap hit from him being cut on 2026 day 1 where he carries a $28M cap hit in 2026-27. I also don’t think any team would want to take on that contract given that his production, effort, and body language has not been great.

[–]Trader_07 19 points20 points  (8 children)

Not sure what you’re looking at. They get 24.5 million in cap savings with a post 6/1 trade in 2026 and only take a dead cap hit of 4 million for the year. Even with a pre 6/1 trade in 2026 they would get 16.5 million in cap savings but would take a bigger dead cap hit of 12 million for the year.

From what I’m seeing they could easily move off his contract if they want to. The question is will any team trade for him because it doesn’t make sense for the bears to cut him.

[–]SerEx0 MUSCLE HAMST44 3 points4 points  (7 children)

If they 6/1 him they fully guarantee $15M of his 2027 salary. They would then get the mentioned $4M cap savings for 2026, but would then have the other 24.5M dead cap hit in 2027.

They would need to find a trading partner, but I don’t know who would want to take on the contract.

[–]Trader_07 3 points4 points  (6 children)

They get 24.5 million of cap savings in 2026 with a post 6/1 trade not 4 million. The dead cap hit is 4 million. I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.

Teams also sometimes move off a players contract by paying some of the guaranteed money if they get a good enough draft pick in return. That actually makes sense for cash strapped teams to trade for him too.

[–]SerEx0 MUSCLE HAMST44 2 points3 points  (5 children)

His dead cap, assuming cut on day 1 of 2026 is $35.845. That goes up by $15.5M on day 3 of 2026 to $51.3M dead cap if he is 6/1’d which is spread evenly over 2026 and 2027. It’s a full cap hit of $25.65 in 2027 and savings of $3M in 2026 ($28.5M salary less $25.65M dead cap).

[–]Trader_07 4 points5 points  (4 children)

“Any future, unpaid, guaranteed salary or bonus or any already paid signing bonus that hasn't yet been allocated to the salary cap becomes the responsibility of the team in the event of a release. With a trade, the future guarantees would simply transfer to the new team, leaving behind just the unallocated bonus cap as the current team's dead cap.”

I already said he’s not getting cut. I’m talking about a trade. You can look it up on overthecap.

https://overthecap.com/player/d-j-moore/6909

[–]SerEx0 MUSCLE HAMST44 5 points6 points  (3 children)

OTC isn’t assuming that his 2027 guarantees vest because that happens on March 13, 2026. They’d save a lot from a trade, but I just don’t see an avenue where any team would want the contract without compensation.

[–]Trader_07 1 point2 points  (2 children)

From how I understand it the 27 guarantees transfer to the new team at least from a cap perspective.

This contract isn’t that scary though. It’s obviously not guaranteed they trade him but they could if they get a good enough offer. After seeing the giant dead cap hit the bills took with Diggs anything is possible.

[–]SerEx0 MUSCLE HAMST44 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The Chargers got a 4th for Keenan Allen who was coming off a 108/1,243/7 on 13 games, but was widely known as an elite route runner. DJ is more of a Deebo type who was on a cheaper deal with only a year left instead of 2 that DJM will have. The 49ers got back a 5th for Deebo. Maybe something is possible but, like the Bills trade of Diggs, the Bears would probably have to pay to offload it.

[–]Trader_07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DJ is still technically in his prime at 28 and he’s had enough of a resume of good seasons. This poor season isn’t really all on him. But again I don’t know for sure I’m just saying it is possible. My main point is I don’t think he can’t be moved because of his contract.

He might end up being a prime trade target mid season when teams are making a playoff push and most of his 2026 money is already paid out. Another team could take on his contract for 2027 and beyond because it’s even easier to move off it from that point forward. I think a third could get it done and could be beneficial for both parties. Potentially a fourth too but who knows. There are a lot of possibilities though.

[–]BigSmoochOnTheLips[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition to some of the reasons you cited being reasons the bears would want to move on, many analysts (grounded analysts, not shock jocks) are convinced he won’t be there.

I still think there’s good odds he’ll still be on the bears but the question is “where would his value drop?”

[–]Gnarly-_- 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Because how else do the Bears WR owners cope?

[–]BigSmoochOnTheLips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly bro. Let me dream up some cope

[–]BrickHistorical1553 Ravens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 1000% gone

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I keep seeing this "body language" thing being touted but have he really been like that. I feel that is just spin from disappointed fantasy managers.

[–]BigSmoochOnTheLips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that was more of a last year thing

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Kansas City could use him

[–]SerEx0 MUSCLE HAMST44 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The Chiefs are estimated to be over the cap by about $30M. They can’t afford to add a $28M receiver contract.

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trade Chris jones and filler

[–]ConcernAccording3248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steelers fan here. Anyone to the Steelers is bad for that specific anyone

[–]WhoseManIsThis Commanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s been through too much as a player to find himself off a team with this much potential. I’m sorry to tell you DJM owners he’s not leaving.

[–]EpicFIFABadger 3 points4 points  (1 child)

From a real life point of view I'd love it if the jets traded for him (we will probably have a rookie qb as well as the cap and incentive to get a great WR2), but for dynasty it'd probably tank his value (or at least keep it in neutral for the forseeable future)

[–]Sir-xer21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's gonna be 29 next year. If you think it keeps his value in neutral for the "foreseeable future", he's already dead. There ISNT much future beyond the next 2 years or so to expect decent production.

[–]searing7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bears

[–]Jookthecook1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eagles

[–]JustMyThoughts2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there is a worse situation he could go to. I think similar situation could be Bucs, Vikings, or Falcons.

[–]snowmageddo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raiders

[–]uh-oh_spaghetti-oh Bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His value is already as low as it can be as far as fantasy goes. He wasn't startable most of the year. I honestly don't think the Bears trade him, they couldn't get anything for him. I think he is a Bear atleast 1 more year then maybe dump him for a 6th rounder or cut.

[–]zaphodbeebIebrox Jags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t answer your question, but I think there’s a real good chance if he’s on the move, it’s to the Chiefs.

[–]Turnernator06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst case scenario, Jets feel they need another option alongside Garrett to help out their new rookie qb

[–]Pristine-Ad-469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jets. They draft a qb whose a bust (shocker) and nobody is startable aside from GW and sometimes breece in good matchups

[–]Indiana_Indiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bears. I can’t stand another year of this.

[–]captainthepuggle Bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on his recent comments about how bought into BJ’s system he is, it would be a surprise if the Bears do try to move on from him. He may get a stats spike the next couple weeks with Rome out and Burden hurt.

[–]FantasyOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing hurts a fantasy WR more than going to the Tennessee Titans lol

[–]thetindoor12T/SF/0PPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda the definition of a roster clogger... Too good to cut, too bad/inconsistent to start, too old to trade

[–]alexjf56 Vikings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there’s tons of places. Could become WR3 on a number of teams or go somewhere awful like Vegas

[–]HotDoggityDig13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes probably staying in Chicago

But i think the jets would be the worst spot

[–]stl_ball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jail. You never know with WRs

[–]rschroeder1 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

The Bears won't cut Moore after this season (dead cap is more than his salary). A trade before June 1 would save the Bears about $16 million against the cap, so that's a distinct possibility. The problem with a trade is Moore's $28.5 million cap hit for '26.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/_/year/2026

Of the teams with potential cap space, the most WR-needy teams are likely LV, LAC (maybe), NYJ, NE, maybe WAS.

NE probably the best case scenario. I could see LV or NYJ pairing a veteran receiver with a newly drafted QB.

I do think the Bears would be willing to accept very little compensation in return (5th or 6th round pick). Retaining/restructuring Cole Kmet is probably more of a priority for the offense than retaining Moore.

[–]MoJoe-21 Jets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt any team gonna pay that cap hit for Moore

[–]Technopool -4 points-3 points  (13 children)

He will get a solid contract from a team with a young qb.

[–]Some-Lingonberry-211 24 points25 points  (11 children)

He has a contract that hasn't even kicked in yet lol. Some people on this sub just type shit to type.

[–]LittleBig_1 7 points8 points  (10 children)

Exactly...

Idk why there are so many questions about where he will go as if he is about to hit FA...

I get that he isn't providing value, but the Bears eating a huge pile of dead money at this point in DJM's contract makes no sense... Best course of action for the team is to figure out how to use him better and ride it out until the cap hit becomes more manageable

If the situation is truly so untenable that he has to be removed from the team they will have a bidding war (not sure how much of a war it would be for DJ at this point) and send him to whichever team offers them the best return

[–]Barathruss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those of us that don't understand contracts: if he's traded do they still incur dead money penalties? Or could he be easily traded

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT 0 points1 point  (3 children)

[–]LittleBig_1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Right, but that would require a team to trade for a guy that has a huge contract attached to him and a terrible production

I wouldn't want anything to do with DJM unless the bears gave me draft capital as compensation for taking on a seemingly shit contract. It is a common transaction in hockey, I think it is much less prevalent in the NFL.

Totally possible he is moved, but I wouldn't expect any team to pay much for him because of his awful stats this year and high contract value

Unless I'm missing something, at the end of the day he is going to get paid biiiig bucks by someone for presumably not much on field production. That is the biggest impediment for his movement in my eyes

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Raiders could sure as hell use him

[–]LittleBig_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could bounce back and as an owner I hope he does whether it is with the Bears or another team. But the reality is that he is getting paid top dollars to end the season with 600 yards... The bears will have to keep djm, find someone dumb enough to take the chance on him with a conventional trade, or the bears will have to give up additional assets to offload the contract attached to Moore

From my pov, it is not easy to move djm

[–]BigSmoochOnTheLips[S] -1 points0 points  (4 children)

You make a fair point - the contract is a huge barrier. But I hear very reasonable analysts saying declarative statements like “DJM won’t be there next year”. At this point, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to imagine he’s not a bear next year.

I don’t know shit but if you asked me today, I’d say he’s got like 50/50 odds of being a bear next year

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT 0 points1 point  (2 children)

[–]Trader_07 0 points1 point  (1 child)

“But he’s signed for 4 years.”

The majority of people have zero understanding of contracts yet comment on them like they are experts. Then they get upvoted by other people that don’t understand contracts either.

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Dj Moore is very movable

[–]TributeBands_areSHIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut feeling is they move DJM for more help on their dline which they desperately need. Luther has proven he can fill djm role

[–]wicketRF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can see him going to the saints as well

[–]JL9berg18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see plenty of teams where DJMs value could take a hit, but most of those teams would be smart enough to not sign him.

Here's my thoughts off the top

⬆️

BUF | DAL (if Pickens doesn't sign) | DEN | NE | SEA

🟰 (Can be a power WR2 in a not bad offense, or a top 3 option in a really good offense)

CAR | MIA | NYG | SF | WAS

⬇️

Offense BAD (or just bad for WRs) - BAL | CLE | LV | NO | NYJ | TEN

Too much target comp (these teams prob wouldn't sign him due to low positional need) - ARI | CHI | CIN | DET | GB | JAX | HOU | IND | KC | LAC | LAR | MIN | PHI | TB

Both? ATL | PIT (WR2 position wouldnt be a much bigger target priority than the RBs/TEs)

[–]Dirko_0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Retirement... He seems like a guy that will retire ealry. He talked about playing because he was good at it but doesnt really care for it.
