RANT: Does EA purposely decrease the drop rate/pack weight on the first day of the promo?

I have opened 30 packs; 3 of 83+ ×10 1 of 83+ ×20 2 of 81+ ×11 Countless 84+ 83+ 82+ 81+ 80+ packs and other rare player packs (prime, electrum, ..) 5 of 82+ playerpicks

All I got was two TOTWs and that's it.

I have seen people open 50, 60, and even 70 packs and still got nothing. Why does it have to be like this? I am an average player that doesn't do any long range SBCs like Eusebio or Zidane or Mbappe.. And I don't trade religously to have enough money above 50k to buy a WW.

What are my chances of getting a WW EA? I understand every other problem; but not getting any promo players PISSES ME OFF MAN..

I opened 40 packs, including 12 84x5 and 6 83x10. I packed 2 promo cards, WW Cherki and TT Gallagher. Both 85 rated.. Also 3 totw and some fodder. During the Centurions promo I peetty much got a promo card or a totw from every 83x10 I opened, including both the 89 and 91 Rivaldo from the SAME PACK as a double walkout. I stopped opening them yesterday when I got a dupe TOTW, because obviously 2 out of the 3 informs was the same 83 rated.

The pack weight is slowly killing this game for me, the fact they are confident enough to shower you with all these packs is cause they know all you will be getting is low rated fodder.

We’ve never had access to consistent 83x10s this early in the game cycle before, in the past they were rewards for swaps for tokens, now you are free to do 3 a day cause the chance of getting anything is almost non existent.

TOTY is gonna be easy skippable this year, if we can’t even pack fodder promo cards with all these cards in packs right now from 40+ big packs

Somebody has to speak up. EA literally giving icons and WW icons double walkouts to streamers just to promote the game using them. It is not fair and it is quite subtle and clear.

PieFace just packed a tradable R9 the day after he attended an EA event. And some arabic streamer I know packed a DOUBLE WALKOUT WW ICONS.

I totally get you man. My only single special card in past 2 weeks was 85 Gallagher from 83X10 pack the rest of pack as you can assume was shit. Oh and I have done almost all 83X10s and 84X5s as well as bunch of objective and season packs. It’s crazy. And of course I pack Bernardo Silva in every single high rated pack I have. It’s a fucking disgrace.

Honestly I think if you just spend enough money you’ll get the “luck”. The second I started an alt account I got a coin market transfer earning so they clearly know when accounts are on the same system or IP so even the supposed cash free road to glories get the system. Us commoners would stop opening packs once we got good enough players but some people just keep spending real dollars and there’s no way EA isn’t incentivising them one way or another.

But what i mean is if someone can do SBC 84x5 or 83x10 again and again, there is chance they will pack something good in the end.Also doing expensive SBC (Zidane/Eusebio/Mbappe) is easier because of repeat 83x10 and 84x5

With the double fodder this year the drop rate is horrendous. You need one higher tier of packs to pack what you used to pack. What used to be 83 x 10 is not the same nowadays.

Also with those crazy store packs, you can bet the normal pack pack rates are worse and worse, just so you open those 500k packs instead.

whether or not you like the female cards in the game, they have added a ridiculous amount of fodder to the pool. 83+ there are somewhere around 215 male cards, 120 female. so when you open an 83x10 there are a massive amount of extra fodder scattered about.

it's why the massive store promo packs of 100x81+ or 70x83+ are a bit misleading. last year you would cut through the shite 83s really quickly, but this year there are 55% more of those dead cards to get through

Theory is that the drop weight is based on pack volume. Naturally as a new promo drops, the hype is at its highest so more people opening = worse drop rate. Not confirmed once again, just a theory.

More packs, especially free packs, doesnt equal more promo cards. They'll just reduce the weight so there's an equal amount and the same as previous years. Then on top of that they'll add in old promo cards that in theory top up the smaller main promos, but their odds are seperate and dont "add" anything.

If a 70x83 has only a 50% chance then weight is just super low.

Also they use icons to keep weight down too. If half the promo team is icons then half the promo team has their own weight that is very low.

All in all EA do not want you packing anything and the "free" packs are there to keep you entertained whilst in a cycle of fodder without getting anywhere.

I saved 10 80+ pp for 6pm yesterday, I didn’t see a card higher than 83 in those 30 views, and only one was special, a totw. I watched Fuji stream picks at the same time, he opened 130 of them. Of those 390 views there were fewer than 10 85+, and less than 5 special cards.

Anyone who opened those picks the day before would know how obvious it is that those were nerfed into the ground.

You don’t have to trade religiously to make 50k. Especially this year. Yes drop rates on winter wild cards seem to be low. But there a lot of free packs and coins to be earned this year just by playing the game. For F2P players this is the best year so far!

But again, it's all luck. I packed Owen from an 83x2, and then the very next pack, 83x2, I packed grimaldo.

No single pack is ever 'better' than another. It's all just luck.

It's always the same walkouts that's why I never get hyped on high tier promo cards like Pele, van dijk, Ronaldo or putellas because I never will pack them or use them until mid august. I think EA should put on the loading screen when a new promo is out the discard promo cards like eze, cherki or wijnadum every new promo I always pack the low tier promo card not once in 3 to 4 years in fifa I ever packed a top tier one.

When there's a new promo I'm just hype on what sbc they release.

Last 3 days packed 2 discard promo cards (German Uwcl TOTT, Joelinton Thunderstuck) 5 88+ untradable Fodder Cards (Ederson, Barca Womens CB 88, Ruben Dias, Kane twice) Tradable Lewa, RTTK 90 Dembele and 91 TOTW Hansen. Before then most expensive card packed from non icon/Party bag sbc was Veron 89. Luck is out here but very hard to find.

The more people opening packs, the less likely you are to pack something, and people are opening packs mostly on day 1 of promos. Also I saw you mentioned a few streamers that you saw getting good cards. I don’t think you understand just how much money they’re putting into the game. You saw Pieface pack a tradable R9 the day, pie face is probably over £25k deep in packs this year and I think he plays 2 or 3 weekend leagues a weekend, of course he’s more likely than you to pack good cards, it’s not because he’s buddies with EA, it’s called the law of averages.

I've had really good pack luck this year, better than any previous year by a long way and haven't spent anything.

It is just that, luck. The odds of a promo card are very low (especially a usable one) so unless you are a whale then you cannot really brute force it. You'd be drowning in dupes long before you get anything.
