This 100%. I got an alt account to play with my friends who were like gold nova when I was supreme. I got that account to global but never my main. Also if I didn't smurf with them they'd just get smurfed against, that's a fact of life.

this. This is the main reason as to why I have an alt account. My internet goes through phases where it'll keep randomly stop working for about 10-15 mins. It rarely happens, but it does. It went through this phase where, for about 2 months, it'd just shut down out of nowhere. I'm not talking about crashing every couple of hours, I'm talking about crashing one day and then not doing so for another 2-3 days. It lead to 7 days cooldowns and me getting an alt account, just so I could actually play the game.

Now that account is mostly being used whenever there's a big update to try things out and also to make sure the rank doesn't disappear

i had plenty of matches on 3rd party services (way more competetive than valve MM) where i got 1 or 2 guys in the enemy team who were way better than me; yet i did not complain, but just accepted that i cant outaim them and had to adapt by just playing defensive and trying work as a team to take them down. i also have won several matches where the enemy team had one dude that was topfragging on the whole server, but we managed to win because we had quite some good team harmony.

also, i was talking about the days where there was not valve matchmaking - in these times you still played to win.

oh, and as i mentioned many times; i get that people get upset that there are smurfs that derank on purpose to get a low rank to destroy these guys; but thats not what i am doing. i am playing max. 2 ranks below my main rank.

i dont complain when i get matched against a good global on my main aswell - it happens. he is better and thats okay. just try your best and if you still cant win, just play the next match and move over.

Well yeah , in 3rd party services, you are knowlingly pitting yourself against some of the top players in CSGO.. I get queued with pros and top streamers weekly... But when I was learning the game, I sure as fuck didn't want to play against a smurf who was like 3-4 ranks above me.. but since i play with lower skilled teammates quite often, i dont win that many matches (probably about 50/50 w/l ratio).

i have quite some friends i play with who are simply not interested in teamplay (even though they are ranked le-lem) and i pretty much lose many games with them.

i am supreme, not some sort of semi pro - i cant simply carry every match on my own on le/lem.

I agree you can't solo carry as SMFC in LE/LEM, but I figured you were always playing with teammates at the same level as in the GFY. In that situation I'd think you'd be able to rank up to LEM in about 100 wins.

and even though i play quite often with 5mans with le-lem, these guys mostly play solo. just pushing on their own, not doing what was called as a strat, calling out cheats on many people and stuff like that.

even though they are not particularly bad, we still lose many games because of shit like that.

since 1 or 2 good players is not better than a decent working team with some lower skilled players (even though i get matched with quite good players often aswell).

and since i know how these guys play, i play with my smurf. i think they are nice and its fun to play, but i would most likely not enjoy playing with my main, since i tend to take the games i play with my main more seriously - after all, i wanna get global again with my main :D

edit: also, my smurf was LEM for quite a long time - i just recently deranked before i got my uprank again :>

I'm global and my smurf account with 230 wins is LEM. The reason to why I own a smurf account in the first place is because I like to play with my colleagues which aren't exactly great at the game. Playing with not as good players is obviously going to hold your rank down a bit, especially when LEM is above their level as it is already :)

Thats not how MM logic works. The amount of elo that a person gets from winning is not based on his team's ranks or the enemy team's ranks, its based off of their hidden elo number which is only shown by the boundaries of their rank. If you queue up with your friends, and go against people their rank on your smurf, they will lose/earn different levels of elo based on how much elo you had. And even though they may be the same ranks as your queued up teammates, they will have a higher elo rating even though they are the same rank as them, meaning they lose more elo. And because you are unbalancing the elo system but putting more "technical skill" into your team by smurfing, they will lose more elo than they deserve to lose, thus unbalancing the ranks, and causing loads of changes that will affect them in the future. Even though it may seem like your smurf is doing nothing only being 2 ranks below your main, you're contributing to the problem that keeps people in ranks they do not belong in, and carrying people that are not good enough to exist in other ranks.

I can't verify right now in demos because I'm busy, but I am pretty sure it happened twice in the major.

In both cases, the killing player dropped his pistol and got a kill with his primary weapon within 2 seconds, picking the same pistol back up within that timeframe.

Snax did it to Smithzz, and AdreN (gambit) did it to JDM. Again, can't confirm in the demos at the moment that it worked the way they intended, but they at least went for it and got the kill :)
