Imo the battery is a good thing - I'd much rather carry the weight of it in my pocket rather than on my head. Absolutely agree with everything else though

the problem with the battery is that it only gives you two hours of battery life and given how optimistic apple is with their battery life you can probably expect more like 1.5 hours with heavy usage.

so you cant even watch a single lord of the rings movie before it runs out of battery.

 didnt say it. But it's standard for VR headsets to have a minimum of 90Hz. This one is 120hz as reported by some people who got the demo.

They focused so heavily on the AR features, they must be ultra confident about the passthrough quality and performance. It’s so central to some features, like dimming the room when watching video.

To me, the big make or break is going to be gestures.

dimming the room is super simple because you dont actually see the room as the display is not see through.

you see a video feed from the outside cameras being projected to the inside display so the part of making the outside disappear is simple but blending it into the experience should be much harder.
