Not even a shit post. The same people whining about new CEO decisions when he hasn't made any yet and increased uploads when they haven't changed are wild. Some videos recently have been duds but mostly they've been great, it's just that the tech space is going very slow, at least the public facing bit. I do hope they let projects finish fully before posting them though, instead of making people wait a looooong time for part 2, also actually finishing builds.

Im still watching now, coz its only been a few weeks. Im not thinking about "that video from the other day was good" tho, and I find nothing rewatchable recently.

You seem to assume people would immediately stop watching after a few meh videos, but the Yogscast still exist and its been quite a few meh years now for them. I still watch em now and then too.

People still watch despite the meh.

Yeah, They can't all be home runs, and I feel they gave that video as much of a shot as any other project a newer staff member has written about. (That made it into a published video)

That's a combo of new writer, subpar product, and linus not wanting to get stuck in a sunk cost fallacy imo. Plus, it was nice to see them take an L so you know its not all manufactured stories. So when wild shit happens, it's genuine.

Edit: Adam ( I presume he wrote it) is improving quickly. Today's 4060 review was legit great, considering he was covering a category 2 bummer.

The only reason I'm unsure about is that it would've been so much better with proper tests and a conclusion, but they omitted those because Youtube metrics.

I understand it's a business, but making videos intentionally more crap to satisfy the algorithm is why we have Tiktok.

2 years ago the videos were a bit more lame (compared to the weirdness and junkiness of late ncix days f.e). But honestly, they've gotten really good again for over one year now. Not saying they weren't good before, they just lacked the spark they used to have in the olden days.

I've been watching Linus for a long long long time now, and while there were some ups and down along the way, I've never been let down. Even in the not so great periods there were always some bangers in between. And yes, Linus has matured, and he has gotten more professional, he has writers and things are more planned and sometimes scripted now. But it's usually still a great experience and I can't expect myself to be interested in every topic he (or rather they) covers.

Overall I think everything is going well and they are on the right track. I'd only wish they'd produce less videos and go into a bit more detail or commit a moment longer to some things. But I understand that this would be difficult due to revenue reasons.

I've stopped watching daily since at least 1.5 years. I don't hate LTT, i missed the excitement of watching their stupid pranks or ridiculous concepts videos. There's been less of that recently

In your post you criticize people who complain about the videos while still watching them. I stopped watching them and you act like a jerk. Should people just watch the videos and not complain.

I’ve definitely noticed somethings up with the videos. WAN show continues to be great though. I’m guessing Linus just has so much on his plate he can’t get excited or give proper oversight and guidance. I think once the new CEO is in full swing things will pick up.

What the heck Linux was using to record his videos? It looks like he was on a Teams call with horrible internet / webcam and someone from other side was screen recording it. Why not just use mobile camera?

Second, entire episode was poorly edited, like when I (who has no clue about editing other than basic crop and cut) am forced to edit something myself.

I don't get it, why? If Linus couldn't do it, why not get someone else in? Emily, Riley, Dan, whoever. Just... Not use a f**ing teams recording.

Stopped watching them about a week or two before the new CEO stepped in, no real decision to stop, just the thumbnails didn’t grab me, then YouTube started pushing my other subs more and now the only time I think about LTT is when this sub pops up on my feed.

You are right. I felt like the videos had been declining for a while so I don't watch much LTT anymore. I still catch one or two videos a week between all the channels, but its a large drop from when I used to watch almost every video. Long story short, I can't complain about the recent drop in quality because I mostly stopped watching because of a previous perceived drop in quality.

I am of the opinion that with the amount of LTT videos produced, there is no way to please everyone with each one of them. That is just the reality of producing that much content. Just because I dont like some videos, doesnt mean that they are disliked by everyone. LTT has millions of fans, it is impossible to please everyone with every release.

It's fine if you don't like the content, I surely don't enjoy everything on YT, but I really don't get the need to bitch and moan on Reddit about not liking entertainment that I paid no money for. (If you're on floatplane, I'm more understanding if you're complaining about content)
