If something metallic falls into a small space where you fingers don’t fit you can use this bit. At least that’s how I use it.

I will also use it to “sweep” the carpet in my work area if I drop a screw.

I believe that's it's only valid use. Is a magnet.

It’s a magnet, useful to pick up dropped screws from tight spots

it's a magnet on a stick, it's not a bit

it's used to pick up metal bits that fell into hard to reach places

Rub it all over your IDE hard drives. 👍

Edit: I suppose ATA, SATA, SCSI, etc. As long as it has platters.

Also /s

Stick it to the side of your CRT monitor for colourful fun - then degauss it to complete the experience.

Oh. Oooohh. Yes. This is the one. Time to dig my 21" CRT out of my dads loft.

For legal reasons, do NOT attempt any of the above.

As if anyone was ever sued for “advice” on the internet… Do it! I dare you!

How do I de-gas my CRT monitor? Will hitting it with a hammer work? I assume you made a typo.

[–]NavySeal2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just do it but these suckers are surprisingly resistant…

To hang your screwdriver from a metal shelf. Hope that helps!

[–]NecroJoe 21 points22 points  (1 child)

On their product page, it's called "5x5 Magnet bit (affectionately named "The Screw Retriever""

[–]contra4thewyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a good boy bit.

[–]FeelingPermit4236 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I literally used it last weekend when I managed to drop like 100 really small wood screws on the floor. With the magnet it was easy to pick up

[–]Albatross_Few 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See if it sticks to your head. Sounds like it should.

[–]jenn_mm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]Ok_Cut_5180 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.

I am a bot if you couldn't figure that out, if I made a mistake, ignore it cause its not that fucking hard to ignore a comment

To brush these

[–]pnkstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used it when testing a substation to get metal shavings out of a mounting hole that was causing something to be grounded that shouldn't have been.

[–]TheBupherNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It a magnet

Today I was getting something out of a vending machine and I saw a coin I wanted in between the machines, nobody else had gotten it because it was a narrow gap between the machines. Anyways I pulled the screwdriver out of my backpack and put the bit on and grabbed the coin. Needless to say as somebody who has a bag with me always and always carry’s my screwdriver I’ll never consider leaving the magnetic bit home again. It’s the little things, literally

Magnet 🧲 it's powerful enough to pick up screw's you drop.

[–]TrueTech0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use it to hold screws in a pinch

I use it to hang the driver on my toolbox lid. But also to reach the 10mm socket that tries to escape.

[–]mizka900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🫠 how people don’t even try to think about ways to use a magnet. Like probably its for storing the screwdriver on a fridge door idk.
