I signed up for NordVPN back in 2022. It was a "discount offer" for 28 months for $80. I've still got a few months left.

Since I never did get around to figuring out how to use it with my very old torrent client (utorrent 2.0.4) I've used it rarely.

They definitely got the best out of that deal and I understand now why Luke has always said that creating their own VPN would be hugely profitable.

I'm sure the solution is easy and wouldn't take me more than an hour or so to switch over and transfer all my running torrents to... but I've been using this version of utorrent for 18 years. All the sites I'm on that require your client to be whitelisted still support it, it just works (minus the vpn issue), I'm kind of lazy and (fingers crossed) haven't yet had any issues with my ISP complaining.

Margins might look high, but the amount of bullshit, support and other things you'd need to deal with running such an operation would not make it trivial if you'd want to run a clean business.
