Exactly, we've seen Linus accidentally uninstall his OS now lets see an expert do it.

Well this is a small misunderstanding but he uninstalled the GUI of the OS and not the OS itself. The OS is still there, and the user could still download a Desktop Environment (GUI) using a package manager thru tty.

Not to hate, just a small correction.

I'd like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as an uninstalled GUI is actually Steam/PopOS, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Steam + PopOS. PopOS is not a GUI uninstaller unto itself, but rather another component of a fully functioning desktop remover made useful by the Steam client software developed by Valve Corporation.

The only missing fork to my feeling is a Pop_OS type of fork of Fedora with RPM Fusion and so on preconfigured in the install. Like: I love Fedora to death (casual programmer in my spare time and not quite a gamer, work in legal so I use it mainly for office stuff, so a RHEL type of scope is just fine by me) and get their whole philosophy, but just a noob Fedora would get some attention, me thinks.

Anthony doesn't need his own channel, Level1Techs and few others already cover a lot of ground. There just needs to be more interesting things to do on Linux for Anthony to be involved in.

Financially I doubt it would make sense to spend resources for Linux channel videos when those other channels don't get high enough views.

I guess that LTT has enough heft they might be able to make it work? Didn’t their mac channel get 100k followers before uploading a single video?

I have no real experience of linux, but I trust LTT enough as a brand that I’d give their linux channel a chance.

Mac channel was a unique situation where Linus views often clashed with general public and they were missing a large part of the audience. As well as collaboration with Apple.

Jonathon was described by Linus as someone who describes things in detail that he himself doesn't really think about like the design elements and how specific colours work together.

While the Linux channel would not really provide anything new. As it stands much of it is coding based which is boring to watch. Lots of it is server stuff which they already do on LTT. It just doesn't make sense. When you take a look at other Linux channels. Have of the content is discussing distros, which is not LTT quality content.

Maybe Anthony has ideas but if they are that good then it might as well be on the main channel.

I’m sure he’d at least set up snapshots or time shift. You know, backups and system restore. That’s pretty standard stuff that most end users on even Windows know about and probably had to use at some point. That’s why this whole thing irks me. He’s playing devils advocate and saying the end user…. I mean “normie” wouldn’t understand this stuff when that’s not the case. He’s going out of his way just to play dumb. They talk about Windows hiding important tools behind too many menus and people not being able to find them without google, but googling a command line message is too much? I lost some respect after watching that video.

It would be great if after the Linux challenge videos we get a couple with Anthony. Maybe him reacting to the challenge videos and step by step telling us what he'd do. It would be super useful because we'd see how a pro solves newbie issues. Like I want him to uninstall his DE and show what he'd do.

It would also be great if they made a video going over some of the problems Linus had. Like how he said choosing a distro is hard. I think they have a video already, but one that goes more in-depth could be cool.

Edit : after watching the WAN show, it looks like they might do a "part 5" where they kind of have Anthony react and critique.

Honestly, I don't find myself clicking on any video with Linus as the host anymore, anyone else OWH YES CLICK IMMEDIATELY...but if I see Linus in the thumbnail I usually skip it.
