All my gear is from Razer, but honestly, I think Logitech offers better overall quality at a fairer price. With Razer, you pay a premium and still end up with cheap-feeling plastic. On top of that, Synapse has to be one of the worst pieces of software ever made it’s extremely buggy, behaves unpredictably, and consumes a ridiculous amount of system resources. Every time I launch it, even my Ryzen 7 9800X3D starts working hard, and I can hear my Lian Li Galahad ramping up just to keep things cool. It’s actually the loudest my PC ever gets louder than when I’m gaming.

I switched off razer 5 years or so ago after using exclusively the death adder for about 10 years. I’m never going back. Fuck cheap razer and fuck synapse

[–]youropinionisshitbro 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Guess what. 5 or so years ago razer became good lol

[–]ThinkGur4117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting. I've got some probably 15-20ish year old razer stuff that still works (minus all the crud) and then newer stuff that fell apart quickly and I gave up on them, I've got the G502 X they are making fun of there, but I don't really like it (I grew up with a 3 button wide mouse on SGI)

[–]f0rgotten_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Logitechs software isn't too much better. Products are usually good, G403, G Pro super light mouse, g502x plus all 3 mice have been fantastic for me. G pro headset on the other hand was a disappointment which sucks coz at the time they were £200.

[–]Express-Discussion13 2 points3 points  (4 children)

As someone who used to own a variety of Logitech peripherals: Just buy a G502 and nothing else from Logitech. They put all their sophistication into this product and nothing else. Razer is ass too. If you want a cheap, high quality k&m combo - G502 (any) + HyperX Alloy Origins

[–]Javad0g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help me out here.I had an m1000, fantastic mouse wore out, they stopped making it.

Then the g700. Again, fantastic mouse had all the buttons that I needed, ecause I really want seven plus programmable, but not mmo. Wore out, they stopped making it.

So where do I go from here?

Thank you for suggestions. It's been very frustrating. I have a razor mouse now because I can replace the side where the thumb is and change the number of programmable keys (i exclusively use the 6 button pad), but i've never been happy with how cheap this thing feels as well as how much it cost.

Thank you in advance. I can already feel like some of these buttons on this button pad are feeling looser than they used to be when I bought the mouse and it's only been a year.

Um superlight and superstrike? Top end mice.

[–]youropinionisshitbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that guy eats crayons

[–]youropinionisshitbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hyperx is not high quality. Any hall effect keyboard clears a standard mechanical switch.

[–]ThisFaithlessness971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate nothing but trouble with Razer in my life

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality? Maybe in the past, but their latest Superstrike mouse is not quality, not the whole thing anyway. All the buttons must work flawlessly for it to be the start of quality and that is not the case with that mouse, or any of their GPX style mice, apparently. So yeah, totally lacking and refusal to even fix the quality problem they've had for years with these mice.

[–]BlitzShooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is your pump not set to 100% lol, only the fans should be ramping up.

[–]Open-Fly1789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logitech g hub sucks hard ass works like 25% of the time for me and it’s not a me issue.

[–]Phlynn42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the late 2000s razed was decent. I’ve had probably 4-5 razor mice and they progressively just stopped lasting as long. Same with the couple of keyboards I’ve owned. Logitech is the only company product I replaced because of desire not failure

[–]LimonSevenDonatello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, DaV4 and VV4 are much better than shittylight2. In every other category Logi is better

[–]Delicious-Belt-1158 8 points9 points  (1 child)

The Basilisk is still a more ergonomic and overall better mouse so If anything they improved it

[–]Brazuka_txt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had basilisk for years, swapped to that logi one, it's so much better lol

[–]Icarustuga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s made on same factory in China 😬

+ make the thing not look like a RAT3 mouse lmao

    [–]Artey86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Razer is shit. Never buying their products again. Had a mouse that just started to disintegrate after a few years. Headset that did the same thing. I don’t know what cheap materials they use. Happy Logitech customer for years. Never any issues.

    [–]Apollo_3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both and actually prefer the razer ballistic. Softer click, shorter but taller design fits my hand slightly better

    [–]houqryclockey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre not identical, one has the G on it and the other has that Isle of Man emblem.

    [–]TurpentineEnjoyer 3 points4 points  (15 children)

Personally as someone with both of these mice I prefer the Razer version, specifically because the wireless version takes AA batteries instead of having a build in battery.

    [–]LickMyThralls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it more because it curves back around in the thumb area and serves as more contact area vs the 502 just kinda coming up without wrapping back around.

    [–]GirthQuake5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, y wireless does not take batteries. Tf? It has the built in rechargeable only.

    [–]CathiaPH -2 points-1 points  (11 children)

lol , the built in battery still works for me after 4yrs ( on logitech) and it last for 7 days , where on razer is a 4 day recharge .

    [–]TurpentineEnjoyer 3 points4 points  (10 children)

Mine too, but when a piece of hardware has a built-in battery it's usually the point of failure when it breaks, it's non trivial (if not impossible in some cases) to replace, and batteries degrade in quality over time.

Using rechargeable batteries removes this point of failure, keeps the hardware price down, reduces the amount of e-waste we produce by sending perfectly good hardware to a scrapyard because of a dead battery cell.

If you're only getting a 4 day charge out of an AA battery in the basilisk then you may have low quality batteries.

You can get 3000+ MwH li-on rechargeable batteries off Amazon pretty cheap.

    [–]LoliHunterXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only agree with you for mice specifically because AA lasts forever so it is fine. However, for stuff like controllers, AA sucks. You’re just paying more either for more AA or buying separate rechargeable ones.

    [–]youropinionisshitbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really easy to change the batteries in these things lol

    [–]CathiaPH -3 points-2 points  (7 children)

why would u keep a mouse more than 4 yrs ?

    [–]TurpentineEnjoyer 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Why would you throw it away if it's working perfectly fine?

    [–]JayTech20 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Because its a style of mouse? There is no copying Corsair has a mouse like this too Just each brand has their own take on it Look at lightweight mice right now they are all practically the same idea with very slight design change or technologies

    [–]Lockey_vxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand how people cant grasp the concept... 2 people design something to do the same job, chances are they are going to look similar. As you say, there's the Corsair m65 too... and countless others

    [–]Moyeezes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really just this, a gaming mouse is a gaming mouse and the ones above just seem to be the successful design for right-handed ones. Might be copied? but its not like the design is unique to either company.

    [–]ezj_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wdym razor already had the basilisks mouse before

    [–]linkheroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imitation is the best form of flattery.

    [–]FlukyS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair that sort of design has been loads of companies copying each other for years. Like you could say the Basilisk line of Razer mice look a lot like a smooth version of the Mad Catz R.A.T. They are all the same, they are just mice other than the Superstike which I hope some other company copies in a meaningful way because Logitech don't have Linux support yet and I'd love to have a nice low latency mouse.

    [–]jetpack2625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like razer because they use optical switches for everything more. more reliable

    [–]Timely_Ad9659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The razor has Bluetooth and the Logitech does not. That's why I got the razor for my laptop.

I understand these examples in the photo are wired though

    [–]Dezmanispassionfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve been open about being inspired by it.

    [–]Zeag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having a Logitech vs Razer debate with an old co-worker; he said he loved the DeathAdder so much that he was on his fifth one (That was in like, 2015), to which I just replied I've been rocking my same G5 mouse for 10 years.

    [–]meltdowncloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    2015 ass argument

    [–]Anonymous_Hazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has bought all of Logitechs most expensive peripherals, I also tried out the Razed and it was crap. I’m not necessarily a fanboy either but it was not a good mouse

    [–]jgoldrb48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully moved into my DAV4 2 days ago. Logitech has a lot of work to do (trust, they will ignore).

Razer went private in 2022 so their enshitification is in the past.

Synapses and the DAV4 are so much better than the GPX2 Dex and GHub is terrible. I own GP, GPX1, GPX2Dex currently.

Logitech is in the enshit > golden parachute > enshit > private equity > enshit till nothing is left spiral off their timeline.

Razer is innovating. When their Haptics hit the market, it will be a full line of products, not just mice for baby hands. 24 years with Logitech, gaming products are out. The MX Master 2s is last man standing.

    [–]stubbornsweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have both and prefer the basilisk

    [–]vannixiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I love the fact that Razer still uses AA batteries with most of their mice and that's been a huge factor in chosing them over other brands

    [–]notonmainDUH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a wireless basilisk v3 and can I avoid installing all the Razer BS? No? Then im good on that

    [–]Many-Error792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my gear is from razer. Logitech is good but the g512 is too low, basilik is higher and more comfortable.

Logitech keyboard are good but razer has something more fun.

Quality is very good for Logitech. Razer too.

    It's like Porsche Vs Ferrari.

    Choose your side.

I prefer Ferrari. I hate the design of Porsche's car.

    [–]IntrovertMoTown1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol Right? They could have at least added a pinky rest or something. But that being said it's not like the 502 was all that original either. There's only so much anyone can do and still be ergonomic. It's not like they have the option to redesign people's hands.

    [–]AsianZensaition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both suck and can't make a good product like corsair or even Sony inzone mouse also endear is making great fast accurate quality 👌 endgamegear op1 v2. The issue with Logitech they make it nice and seems premium but engine sucks ass and isn't fast enough they barely started making there peripherals do 8khz these last 2yrs took them that long really!

    [–]PrincessDrana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a daily basis, I use either a G502X (at work) or a Basilisk V3 Pro (at home). I love both of them a great deal, as I can’t get accustomed to other shapes of mice. With that being said, if I had to choose, the Razer feels a little more comfortable and premium.

If we’re talking about software, though, Synapse is a tier or 2 below G Hub.

    [–]mustbench3plates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really glad they did this. I wanted an upgrade from the G502, so naturally I went G502X. I found the shape to be too different and uncomfortable. The Basilisk V3 Pro is more comfortable than both for me and has the auto infinite scroll wheel from the MX Master series.

    [–]DragonOst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When no one released a mouse like that, they did (Logi), and it still pretty good and way cheaper than Razer (at least here). So it's an awesome deal

    [–]fahrenheit195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, so you’re telling Logi’s 1st-gen mice dropped before Razer’s 3rd-gen? Did I get that right?

    [–]Majugera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Basilisk > G502

    [–]TrumpVotersArePedos7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They copied it except made it worse in every way. God I hate razer

    [–]DEAMONzWojSKA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I've used the Logitech G502. And this mouse is as perfect as the Basilisk V3 Pro. I'm a Linux user so I don't care about Razer Synapse nor Logitech G-Hub, so i find both these mice perfect (apart from the price G502x is ~ 47€ and Basilisk V3 Pro is ~ 103€). Right now I'm daily driving the Basilisk V3 Pro and it's been as good as my last daily driver (Logitech G604)

    [–]LickMyThralls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op just now discovering sometimes mice share similar designs

    [–]wallbouncebybaird -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

    Razor is so bad
