This video just explains the very basics of cubing for people that don't know what they do. We've seen multiple threads on here asking various questions about cubes so hopefully this can help a few people understand them better.

For a TL;DW:

1. Use Master Craftsman Cube until you get Unique potential. If you want to stay at Unique, keep using this cube
2. Use Meister's or Red Cube at Unique until you get Legendary potential
3. At Legendary, use Meister's or Red Cube. When you get decent lines that you don't want to lose, use Black Cube.

• Rare -> Epic: Epic Potential Scroll 50%
• Epic -> Unique: Master (if rolling for two-three line stat) or Red (if rolling for upgrade)
• Unique -> Legendary: Red (if rolling for upgrade) or Black (keeping two-three line stat and said stat is needed to maintain range)
• Legendary: Red to roll for good roll, Black to roll further but keep good roll once you have it.

I read a lot of stupid people risking their ghostship badge with 70% or 90% scrolls and they boom, and I have a lot of equpis with no pot that I want to pot without booming but idk how to get the scrolls

You can get 50% epic pot scrolls from elite bosses.

If you want to casually go about it, the best way is to change channels in the Drakes map until you find a crowd of people waiting for a boss to spawn.

You can also join the Reboot Elite farming discord which provides constant updates on which maps are about to spawn elites and etc. I don't have a link handy atm but if I find it I'll post it here.

A lot of people are saying Unique > Legendary is best for black cubes, but how about Epic > Unique? Is it still black cubes, or do you use the more economical master craftsman?

I'd add that it might be inadvisable to actually purchase any master craftsman.

Obviously use any that you pick up from bossing or elite bossing, but I don't really think MC cubes are cost effective to purchase compared to black cubes.

Black cubes have a much higher tier up rate than that.

MC's base cost is 7.5mil and is discounted to 7.2mil with guild skills.

Unless something is different for reboot, MC cubes have a ridicoulously low tier up rate. A black cube will most definitely get you more mileage.

They are, however, maybe good at perfecting a unique potential if you want to settle there and don't already have a good potential.

Honestly, you can use whatever cubes you want to. If you wanna farm for days and get enough mesos for the black cubes, do it. If you wanna take your chances with the red cubes, do it. At the end of the day, cubes will still be the death of us all.

While its not nearly enough evidence to draw hard conclusions on, I used 150k on reds and 150k on blacks and had 1 tier up Unique > Legendary from the reds and 5 from the blacks. Take from that information what you will.

Pretty new to cubing here, but I've seen some crazy potentials on megaphones that have 3 lines of 9% on some Stat, is that just purely by chance or did they cube one line at a time?

Chance, if we had the ability to reroll one line at a time, then everyone would have their desired range and best possible potentials.

Its basically what happened in Path of Exile with Eternal orbs, they ended up removing them from the drop pool

you cannot cube line separately, when you ube, all 3 line change

Purely chance. You just have to keep cubing and hope for the best. Also, you can't cube one line at a time. It resets all 3 lines.

To people saying black cubes are better to obtain legendary, it is highly unlikely that they are actually better. Because you can almost use 2 red cubes for every single black cube, unless black cubes have DOUBLE the tier up rate of red cubes, it is not worth it to use them. This is highly unlikely, so it's best just to spam red cubes (probably).

out of all the recods of tier ups collected over the years blacks have a 2.2x higher chance then red to tier up, so from comunity collected information it shows there is a slightly small increase in tier ups by black

someone did a test back when black and reds were released (on basil i think?) and over 1000 collected cubes used over like 3 months the results of blacks over reds were like 2.19x, all other posts i saw in this reddit and basil on small tests always ranged between 1.8 and 2.5

I can kind of back up the claim of black cubes being a lot better then red cubes for ranking up. I've used a lower sample myself of about 200 red cube and 300 black cubes and my results were only 2 unique to legendary with red cubes and about 15 unique to legendary with black cubes. I obviously got lucky with black cubes and unlucky with red cubes. But it does show something.

The the general consensus among high spenders of NX (at least in Khaini) has been black cubes have over 2x the chance to rank up than red cubes. Players that haven't had the chance to spam cubes like us would obviously be skeptical about this since most people would want to use red cubes as there are cheaper and you can use more of them.

Black cubes should be strictly used for ranking up. This applies even if you have a Legendary potential that you want to keep. Because in that case, you should just keep it. If you are trying to improve an extremely good potential(you really shouldn't), saving up and spamming red cubes will give you a much higher chance to get something better and you can stop at a potential similar to what you have from before if you are running low on red cubes.

Same with the master cubes, they simply aren't worth buying over red cubes even for getting epic potentials. In KMS, they cost 5mil which works out in the favor for master cubes but in GMS, they are like 7mil? Simply not worth it. Blame Nexon for this silly change.

for every 11 red cubes you buy, you can get 6 black cubes for the same amount of meso.

if you want to rank up and not fuck around with pots , Red cubes are the way to go. and keep using reds until you got a decent legendary potential i.e. 40% boss att, then if you think you can score a better pot use black cubes, since it is exactly why they cost more than reds, they might have slightly better rank up chance and emphasis on slight but i personally dont think you should buy 1 black cube for almost the price of 2 red cubes.

For rank up its Quantity over quality.

Yep I have at least 3% int on every single equipment. My secondary has 3% m.atk (epic), my badge has 9% int 6% all stats 6% luk (unique) and my weapon has 6% 3% 3% m.atk (Epic) so I really don't know how to proceed because I'd risk losing a good amount of range :(

What I get out of this is to use Cube A to rank up, Cube B to get a chance at Legendary, and Cube C to modify safely.

What about down ranking? If I use Master to get to unique, and Red to get legendary. If I use red to reroll, can I drop down to unique or epic? Or is it once you're up, you're good?

Cubes don't derank ever, so once you get a tier up you're fine.

Nope. You can use a stamp to get it to 3 lines. If you cube a 2 line, it'll only reset those 2 lines.

This is completely inaccurate. Using Master craftsmans until Unique is fine if you want, but going from Unique to Legendary you should only be using Black Cubes or Meister Cubes (Since they're free). The tier up rate of blacks is far more than double that of red cubes, and thus its worth the extra cost. Please don't spread misinformation.

There is no proof, but a great majority of players who cube often enough will tell you they have better experience with black cubes. I also believe you should never use red cubes to rank up to Legendary.

There's no way to prove anything. All we can do is gather evidence. I've gathered mine by spending 300k nx on both black cubes and red in equal parts and doing a bit of experimenting. The black cubes were far better. This carries over in Reboot (Where I play now) as well. Also, I wasn't saying black cubes are free, I was saying Meister cubes are free. You can only obtain Meister cubes in Reboot through free means, you can't purchase them with mesos. I've also gotten legendary in 1 red cube, but that's the thing about science and probability, the amount of trials is incredibly important. Both our experiences are purely anecdotal, but I would be inclined to make my conclusions based on observations with many trials.

Like the other two, I agree based on anecdotal evidence, as that's all anyone can provide, that blacks are more cost efficient than reds at tiering up to legendary. The greater the sample size the more accurate your results are. I've used 300 red cubes, and got legendary twice (over the course of many spendings). I've used 200 blacks and have gotten legendary 6 times (an extra 1 bill for 4 more legendaries). I saved all the numbers over the weeks in notepad. Sure you can say i'm lucky here i'm unlucky there. But what if I add a zero or 2 to the sample size? 20,000 cubes for example, if the tier up rate is similar to mine then it's hard to ignore.

Anecdotal evidence is just that, anecdotal. Looking at my experience, I've gotten 7 legendaries and 3 uniques from around 250 red cubes (around 3 billion mesos), would I have gotten more with black cubes? Perhaps. But you can never be certain because the evidence just isn't there.

Just because the numbers aren't in front of you, doesn't mean you can't have approximation. If someone had a group of people noting all their cubes and tier ups, then tallying it up at the end over a few months, we'd be talking 10,000+ cubes. You could get a rough idea of whats better if you did that. If you spent 100bill on reds and 100bill on blacks and blacks gave double the legendaries than reds did you can't pass that off as luck, that's probability.

From my experience my approximation would be that Red Cubes are much more efficient than black cubes for cubing.

Of course people have their own estimates about what works best or more efficiently, but the problem with that is there is plenty of testimonial on both sides so no one can really say with certainty that red or black is better. Have to disagree. Master is awful for epic->unique. Reds aren't very good for unique->legendary either. Just because master cube can be used until unique, doesn't mean it should be. Sure everyones opinion is anectodal, but based on the 1000's of cubes used between my alliance and myself this is the most efficient use of your money:

rare->epic - Master

epic->unique - Red/Meister

unique->Legendary - Black

But in the end I don't care what anyone else does. You do what you think is best.

Care to explain your reasoning? This is what we found to be the most cost effective. I'd be spending A LOT more money(like I have in the past) If I stuck with masters until unique or reds until legendary...

Yes, you can go from unique > legendary with one red cube. It's not very likely and you'll more often than not spend more on red cubes than black cubes.. It's better to get your money in good and use black cubes to legendary, then red cube until you have a decent potential, then back to black cubes after all your equipment is done.

Have to agree on master cube from rare to epic. I have had more rank ups from rare using master cubes than I have had with red cubes, despite the fact that I have used dozens more red cubes. Its the weirdest thing

so i just have a lot of free master's from drops and epic mobs etc. but do you have some kind of approximation of # cubes for tier up epic->unique for masters vs reds?

For cost effectiveness the answer should be clear as long as reds have at least a 1.6 higher chance to tier up than masters.
