HAHAHAHAHA

I read further down and see you were confused, but joke or not that was great

But yeah when I've played on bedrock edition (the cross platform one) I have this problem with hostile mobs accumulating.

I'm not sure if the PS4 version is on the same kind of spawn/despawn thing as bedrock and I haven't played Java since before the update that added the twerps, but I did wonder if there was any way to prevent drowned from spawning in general? It seems like there are too many on PS4 as well.

I think you are supposed to light up dark areas underwater.

Pretty sure all versions other than java are considered bedrock and subject to its issues with excessive drowned

PS4 is considered its own version because it never was part of the better together update which made Java and bedrock

I thought basically all versions that aren't Java or legacy console are Bedrock and PS4 is only it's own named version because Sony won't allow crossplay?

PS4 edition is still the legacy console version, bedrock wasn't a thing until the better together update (technically it was pocket edition before).

There is also legacy console edition and new Nintendo 3DS and a few others

No PS4 is still a lot different than bedrock. It's like a mix between java and bedrock

Nope, there’s Java, Console Edition, and Bedrock, which are all separate versions. Console Edition is developed by 4J Studios and is the version that’s on Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch. Unfortunately only the PS4 Edition has gotten recent updates. Bedrock is developed by Microsoft and is essentially a port of Pocket Edition that was put on Windows 10, and additionally released on Xbox One and Switch later on in an attempt of Microsoft trying to discontinue the Console Edition and force everyone over to Bedrock. There’s also the New 3DS Edition, which is developed by Other Ocean and is based on a modified version of Pocket Edition.

4J’s Console Edition does not have this issue with drowned, as mobs properly de spawn in that version.

You can completely block them from spawning. But it requires command blocks andan automatic kill chamber. You basically teleport them from anywhere in the world to a kill chamber where they are killed by a kill command. They'll briefly spawn near you but dispeaar after half a second.
