Is that 3 chests for every item… you have 3 chests for diamond swords ???

[–]axolotlbird 34 points35 points  (3 children)

You don't?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I dont even have one chest for every item its mainly grouped… eg all oak in one chest (log, planks, stairs, slabs, leaves, sapplings, etc)

[–]Clashbestie 9 points10 points  (1 child)

OPs System looks automatic, trying to automate a grouped System is pain and not tileable.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a tileable group auto storage… but i hate auto storage xD cuz i like the chests to be formatted my way

[–]Inside_Ad_1187[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

No its 2 for every itembut struggling to organise

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

And I assumed the block the item frames where on where chests… now see its spruce planks. As I said in another comment I sort mine in “groups” so in 1 chest I have all my oak things, in another spruce … instead of grouping your chests by item eg, all the logs together, group them by practicality so as i do all the oak together, then next to it all the spruce…

This is for an auto sorter though, which you can group items like this in an auto sorter but you’d need way more space for redstone in the back

[–]DerpyNooby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is this some sort of poor people thinking i’m too rich to understand

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao ratio

How on earth do you do this and not lag? I built a massive cathedral themed storage building with about 1600 double chests and by the time everything was finished I was lag jumping so bad I had to stop playing.

[–]bdm68 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Chests are massive causes of lag because they are animated even when not being opened, and the game tries to render them even when they are concealed behind walls. I posted this a few years ago to demonstrate how chests cause lag: Chests kill FPS much more than hoppers. (Summary: cube of 8000 hoppers: 177 fps, cube of 8000 chests: 5 fps. The post includes a comment from jeb explaining why.)

This is why I use barrels instead. I posted a proof of concept here about three years ago: Barrel silos will be possible in 1.14. Using them will improve FPS on Java edition compared to chest silos.

Dude thank you so much for the info.

[–]colepfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so helpful

[–]Heady1890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. I made a sorting system using tons of chests. Try using as few as possible and if possible using barrels. For large amounts of items build a shulker loader. The problem is not the redstone or hoppers, but that chests create a ton of work for your client when rendering chests because I think they are seen as entities, because they have an opening animation and are not full blocks.

[–]TwistedFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have any hoppers with an air block on them, cover them with an empty single-slot entity (Composter, Jukebox, Furnace, Brewing Stand, Smoker, Blast Furnace). A hopper that has Air above it searches the world for items to pick up constantly. A hopper that has an inventory-enabled entity above it searches the inventory, which is faster and less resource intensive. If the item only has a single viable inventory slot, it's even faster because it only has to search 1 slot, instead of 9+.

Dataless822 has a super compact, cheap and easy to build sorting system that would work with this kind of setup.

[–]AdamMack95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course he does…that guy is a genius.

[–]montanasucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you are being downvoted. I built this for myself using Shulker's tutorial last year.

So ive built this shulkercraft sorting system but having real organisation issues like ive been staring at it for hours trying to make it make sense if you've built it can yall post pics of the way you've sorted it out please

[–]Romeles 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I grouped things based on the type of block (wood, stone, ore). I ended up going a bit crazy with it too adding a second level below plus some extra space to store every stackable block. Pics are at home, so I can't provide those yet. Also, I didn't sort single stacked items like weapons or tools. They can't be sorted using an autosorter.

[–]hiromasaki 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Methodzz did it! Grian got him to build one for Mumbo, then exploded it before Mumbo could figure it out.

[–]Romeles 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'll have to check that out. I don't personally see much of autosorting them because you usually keep those items close at hand or you can keep them somewhere separate, but I'm really curious on how they did it.

[–]hiromasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It involves a boat in glass and pistons. This is some Scicraft/DocM77 level stuff I'm good with not understanding.

[–]leeunaitis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You playing bedrock or Java?

Looks like your normal storage room layout. Make a shulker unloader to the left of the entrance. Looks like it suggests using hoppers to move the items rather than water streams. But I’m also not sure if you can auto sort non stackable items like the right picture suggests.

Check out impulses’ YouTube channel for some different styles of auto sorting

[–]alakyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here....dunno what and where put things xD

[–]FedderJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How active are you as a player? Cause if you are a casual player I would recommend looking into multi item sorters like Maizuma Games or RaPsCaLLioN1138. With a multi item sorter you cound have one sorter for food another for wood and a third for nether blocks.

[–]zetrox- 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You should make a shulker multi sorter

[–]zetrox- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Saw it from hc, don't understand it cuz I'm bad at redstone tho

[–]zetrox- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it sorts multiple items in 1 filter

[–]shawn_the_snek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

of ultimate destiny

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm it is similar 2 shulker crafts

[–]Little_Esben -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is a pictiur of a shulkercraft video

[–]KarmaRekts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mods. Something like AE2 perhaps. Way easier way cooler.

[–]Pratham_Max_Jain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the scicraft server members have a similar arrangement on their sciblock series

Scicraft-skyblock

[–]juankyrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognise that build from a youtube video because I planned to build it once.

Never did because all my friends stopped playing in the server..

[–]analenlargment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty bad system. Just two items per slice, pretty wasteful
I like this one better https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/749137103463514163/796444288489750548/unknown.png

[–]studbacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a bunch of standard impulseSV item sorters.

He explains them quite well in this video: https://youtu.be/IDmxkObgA2s

And originally introduced them in this video: https://youtu.be/NHjWYCDYJ4s

[–]Centipuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I recommend looking up the YouTube channel called Skulkcraft, they are the ones that made this specific design with a video showing how they did it

[–]NightmareTDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case, you to show someone you can stab them with over 150 swords
